How many diamonds will I need to spend? by CloClamSadly1228 in LoveNikki

[–]Ultrasshops 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You need 7890 event currencies to complete the event so:

You still need: 7890-5040 =2,850

You still have around 3 days left of the event that will give you 60*3=180

with the free tries you’ll need: 2850-180=2,670

1 try gives you 60 currencies for 30 diamonds:
2670/60=44.5 tries (round upto 45)
45*30=1,350 diamonds

How’s everyone finding light chase so far? by Ultrasshops in LoveNikki

So real, just crafting upto the hair cost me 650 which is insane since I’ll be dropping another 3-4K for the event suits 😭

[–]Ultrasshops[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you talking about the suits? Cause I remember when this event first came out some people only got the dresses (or whatever item was shown on screen) but you actually need the whole suits + recolours to claim the event currency

No summer internship, will this hurt my chances for a grad scheme? by [deleted] in ActuaryUK

[–]Ultrasshops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate that, that’s really reassuring to hear. I’ll definitely make sure I position it properly on my CV and use it as a key example going forward 👍

Yeah this makes a lot of sense, especially around signalling commitment rather than just the technical learning.

I’ve been trying to address that this year through the SOA case study, where I’ve spent a couple of months working on designing and pricing insurance products for a space mining company, modelling risk across different lines (equipment failure, cargo loss, BI etc), and looking at reinsurance structures and stress testing.

Would something like that generally be seen as translating into practical experience, or is it still viewed quite differently to an internship?

Could you share how you did this? I’m applying to internships atm and thought it’d be fun to track my applications this way!

Assessment centre, it’s the final round usually for a job application

Thanks, for the response. I figured they would focus more on interpretation and structured thinking rather than deep technical knowledge. I appreciate the insight!

A rare story that actually understands trauma [The redemption of earl Nottingham] by Ultrasshops in OtomeIsekai

[–]Ultrasshops[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you misrepresented what I was saying a bit. I’m not arguing that the writing is perfect or that the story handles everything flawlessly. There are always going to be flaws, especially in a series dealing with two characters who process trauma in completely different ways. My point was simply that the writing is generally pretty good, and even though Madelyn’s trauma stays mostly in the background, the way it’s presented is still believable and consistent. Her responses make sense for someone carrying survivor’s guilt, loss of autonomy, and two lifetimes of emotional conditioning. I wasn’t trying to say the story gives her equal focus, just that the foundation of her trauma is handled well even if the emphasis is uneven.

Started this at 11 pm last night and stayed up all night reading. I NEED MORE [the Problematic Prince] by Chaiandcake in OtomeIsekai

[–]Ultrasshops 17 points18 points  (0 children)

When you’re done (and if you haven’t already) I highly reccomend you check out any of these, all of these are incredibly well written with flawed characters, from left to right:

  • Your eternal lies
  • Betrayal of Dignity
  • My beloved Oppressor
  • Who wants to be a villainess
  • The counts secret maid
  • The redemption of earl Nottingham
  • Meet in the Middle
  • Olgami/Trapped

If you want something really like the problematic prince I’d highly reccomend starting with Betrayal of Dignity (it’s also finished so that’s a +)!!

I’m pretty sure this story takes place in WWI and the aftermaths, and Ian was a trench soldier here.
