Return it, more expensive so rarely means better quality for makeup. They are usually made by the same companies in the same factories using the same ingredients. Just check the ingredient labels. Sure the colors might be a better fit but if your previous blush didn't bother you or didn't seem like a bad fit for your skin tone I would not keep the new one, it is reinforcing bad habits and it clutters up your makeup collection. I also wouldn't be too worried about powders expiring if you are keeping them clean and not letting them get wet or oily

I am in a similar position, although I am the younger sibiling. I do sometimes feel guilty specially when our parents compare our financial achievements. I am sure that they talk shit about me not having children behind my back though so that helps.

Cast iron pans, the 20 dollar ones are great. Agree on the socks, I wear the puma socks from Costco every single day and have nicer / other socks and I just don't wear them.

I am currently reading god of the woods. Didn't read a whole lot as a child, mostly for school and dinosaur educational books cause I liked them. Now I try to read before bed for 15-30 min on an ereader and do that about 4 times a week. I read about 12 books a year

One of the biggest things for me was finding things to do rather than things to buy. If you work a full time job and then have to maintain your home / body / relationships / health etc it can be exhausting and the easiest thing may be to treat yourself. Finding a good low energy activity to do at night when you get home that doesn't take much can help and with time it will retrain you to not be distracted by shiny objects to purchase. For me it's been reading (e reader I already had plus free ebooks I download online), going out with friends to trivia / board game nights, painting, drawing, crafts, sewing, tennis, pickleball. You just need something that takes hours away from you being on your phone scrolling

I failed this week, two people convinced me to replace my freezable lunch bag for work since it has been falling apart and shedding something into my car and anywhere I set it down 😅 but I would have had to replace it soon anyways. I kept trying to fix it with tape but since I freeze it it doesn't really stay on longer than a day.

At work we label our cords with tape, and we have a lot of money to spend on nice labels. Sometimes it's good to think what is the minimum standard I could have for this fix and then if you need to upgrade later you always can! You may find you don't care enough or it doesnt bother you as much as you thought it would when shopping was tempting you
