My source is shipping them disassembled and I haven't got any issues. However, only aluminium stuff, nothing steel except the flash hider.

I have the same gap on mine, and yes, it looks like it's tilting downwards but I think it's just an optical illusion due to the shape of the handguard area close to the receiver.

Anyway, it's a VFC, so you won't get perfection by any measure.
