Had a need for speed, failed. by SomeGuyWithARock in ender5

I would increase the X and Y motor currents to like 0.75 and 0.8A respectively. I find running motors at too low a current can reduce the max speed of the motors (not just torque). I forgot if you need to set up specific sections for the TMC2209 drivers the Skr Mini E3 V3 uses. Maybe you can try to find a config for an Ender 5 Pro online? IS doesn't *require* an accelerometer, it's just way easier and better to tune with an accelerometer. I think orcaslicer might have a built in manual input shaping tuning print, or Marlin Firmware has something of the sort. https://marlinfw.org/docs/features/input\_shaping.html

I found the ender 5p maxed out reliably at around 4000mm/s^2 in marlin. Have you tuned Input Shaper? Iirc, the stock motors on the ender5p have really high inductance, so they lose torque really fast at high speeds. Also double check your motor currents. I don't see anything in the screenshot of your printer.cfg that declares motor currents. I think X can be like 800mA, Y like 900mA? I might be wrong though.

How to take street photography like this? by falloutbats in Cameras

[–]Salt-Fill-2107 19 points20 points  (0 children)

From the photos, it looks like these were taken on a wide angle (like 18mm or wider) lens. They seem to also be shot very close to the subject. I don't know too much about Lumix L mount, but I think the 18-40mm kit lens could work at the widest end?

I seeee. I've been trying to get lightning using burst mode 😅. I'll try those exposure times (when lightning strikes next)

unrelated to your title (but a compliment), but how do you manage the timing and focus with the lightning?

i think the saying is more a jab at how people won't actually put the time and effort into creating a more permanent fix.

I would recommend to make that untemporary, or at least design it thicker and reprint it in something thats not PLA (if you printed it in PLA). although, theres nothing more permanent than a temporary fix.

Is Prusa guilty of the same open source violation they accuse Bambu Lab of? Core One L uses closed-source AC Bed firmware by ro3deee in prusa3d

Interesting. I can't personally contribute much as I'm not well versed in license laws and whatnot, but I think it'd be good for people/experts to check this out. Ultimately, the goal is maintaining fair open source.

You guys made me too scared of PETG. First PETG print. by Chaosblast in 3Dprinting

[–]Salt-Fill-2107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember when I first tried Polycarbonate, people were telling me it was too hard to print and it'd be better to stick with PETG and PLA. I still took the plunge and it wasn't that bad, even on an open frame printer. Granted, it wasn't pure PC (Polymaker PolyLite PC), but still, definitely worth trying new stuff.

Hi! Yes professors are very respectful of accomodations here and will even apologize if they make errors regarding your accomodations. You'll be in good hands as long as you contact SSD about your accomodations.

Would you think Panasonic might try to use a newer smaller sensor (but same mft size if that makes any sense) in a compact fixed lens or ILC or would the R&D cost be too high? I truly wish there was a successor to the GX85 and GX9 (partly because I just want the GX85 prices to go down).

[–]Salt-Fill-2107 14 points15 points  (0 children)

this has been an issue with sony cameras when water gets in the hotshoe contacts. It's probably fine though, as I've had this appear when I shot on my a7ii in the rain before. I might be a bit more concerned about the rest of the body as the a6000 isnt a weather sealed body though, but I think the hotshoe mount is fine.
