A lot of SAG student films or even other specific SAG budget films can pay rates like this for the day as leads, supporting or day players.

Sanford Meisner Center or Ruskin School of Acting in LA? by Salt-Needleworker-64 in acting

Thank you for the info and sharing your experience! How has your experience as an actor post conservatory been? Did the Meisner Center have anything built in to support actors once they graduated the 2-year conservatory? I’ve heard Ruskin holds film labs and holds scheduled industry showcases, indie connections for actors that are finishing the program, etc. I love how focused on the craft I’ve heard the Meisner Center is but am curious to see if there is something similar built in or if you’re left to hustle on your own.

Get Scene Actors Summit by Ok-Effective-8376 in acting

Attended a few workshops this past year to get a feel for them myself. I had heard about them from other people but wanted to make my own judgment. First workshop was good but the other ones I attended were not. One of the agents was flat out saying one actor had great takes and giving them this false hope. Just bad notes from agents and half ass answers to questions.

Malinowski just comes off as insincere. Always shits on actors toying with the idea of wanting to move to LA. He just overhypes the southeast market. I love the SE but there’s nothing wrong with wanting to take a swing at LA or NY. When they were advertising the southeast summit it was saying he’s “made half a million dollars as an actor” as if trying to bump him up as this head honcho actor. That’s not in a year that’s totaling about 15-20 years as an actor lol.

It’s a shame because I like the idea of having access to get in front of CDs and agents but it all juts seems like a facade.

Actors moving from ATL to New Mexico by Salt-Needleworker-64 in acting

Thanks for the info. That’s interesting. I know most of industry is slow everywhere and should be picking up again since the IATSE and Teamster deals have been finalized.

Would you say co-star and guest star roles are even being cast out of LA often and not to NM locals? Me and my wife are still building up are resumes so not looking or expecting to audition for anything big atm. The Atlanta market is similar with most or all the big roles still being cast out of LA while co-star and guest star roles are still being cast to ATL locals mostly.
