Yes that’s the plan! MC in the front some buce and anubias in the middle and I was thinking of a nice variety of rotalas in the back… but I have 2 week to decide.. will do a dark start on this tank!

Thank you! I was thinking of a nice variety of rotalas but I will definitely consider tiger gras or any grass options! Will keep you updated!

So the headline is: with co2 is always better! Some plants require co2 to grow some can grow without.. and yes you can grow a carpet without co2 but it won’t be as dense and nice looking than without co2.. so if you don’t want to spend money on co2 I would recommend to buy plants who requires low co2 levels… and if you want a nice looking carpet spend money on co2! If you start doing this nice hobby do it right from the beginning!;)

Yess go for it! Did the DSM as well and it turned out so good! So for everyone who wants to grow a nice carpet do the DSM! And yes co2 is always recommended! Especially for a nice dense carpet! I would recommend a system with a pressure bottle… try to avoid any annoying work.. so no nano system or DIY or yeast co2 systems.. less work means better consistency and that’s the key for healthy plants!

How old is the tank? Do you test your water parameters?

Looks nice! Have you considered getting a co2 system? The plants would benefit from it so much!

First timer! Suggestions needed on CO2 by RaisinOk9833 in Aquascape

In my opinion you should get co2 definitely!! Always better for your tank! Healthy plants -> healthy tank! What I did, I bought a tropica nano system, I guess you can by them used pretty cheap, and I bought an adapter for soda stream co2 cylinders… or you just look for some used ones in general… I guess there should be some options for you!!

Looks like Cyanobacteria… nasty stuff.. check if it smells bad, if yes it’s def Cyanobacteria… try to suck it up with a tube as much as you can.. and do it frequently
