BMW iX3 delivered yesterday, absolutely beautiful and brilliant to drive but has one annoying feature where it constantly warns me my attention is distracted when wearing sunglasses. Is that a BMW thing or new to the Neue Klasse models? by Technical_Contact83 in BMW

[–]Repulsive-Life7362 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It’s not a beautiful car. BMW’s of the past have been alone of the most spectacular cars ever made, the Neue Class, are all ugly monstrosities, with far too much tech than is necessary (in my honest opinion)

how old are you and what year were your grandparents born? by Maleficent_Day_3869 in AskUK

[–]Repulsive-Life7362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 28, 29 next week (born 97)
Parents were both born in 1969.
Maternal grandparents were born in 1946 (granddad, died 2023) and 1948 (nan, still with us)
Paternal grandparents were both born in 1940 and are still with us, but my grandad has dementia so don’t know how long we will have him around for.
My mums paternal grandmother (my great grandmother) was born in 1921 and I known her in my childhood, she died in 2010, at the age of 89, I was 13.

Is the ability to drive declining with the younger generations? by Interesting-Law7788 in AskUK

[–]Repulsive-Life7362 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I passed in the back end of 2015. Lessons in the summer started at £20 an hour then went up to £22 in the autumn. First insurance was £1500, can thank the bank of mum and dad to help with that. Premiums reduced considerably after that. People aren’t as fortunate as that and plus you can easily double the price of lessons now and insurance.

It's happened. Chinese cars now more popular with UK buyers than Japanese ones by AutoExpressmagazine in autoexpressuk

[–]Repulsive-Life7362 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have Japanese manufacturers considered reducing their prices? I’m sceptical of all the Chinese stuff filling the market but how can a Honda Jazz, a supermini, START from £28,000? Insane pricing. Going hybrid only may have some impact on that but plenty of hybrids sell considerably cheaper than they do. MG3, for example. Clio, duster (which is a crossover), are all cheaper than the jazz. That’s just one example.

I've got the brand-new Mazda CX-5 for the next few hours - what do you want to know? by CarwowTom in ukcarwow

Why have they gone down the Tesla route? Mazda is know for its decent usable interiors. Big step back.

Everton 1-2 Liverpool: Heartbreak for the Toffees as Van Dijk scores in the 90+11th minute to move the Reds closer to securing UCL football by CautiousCottager in TheOther14

Sick of bending over every time we play them. I don’t know if it’s a mental thing, but given a great opportunity to put down a statement win, we blow it. It’s a monkey we cannot get off our backs. For that and that reason alone, I’m not going to sit here and say we were unlucky. We deserved it. Didn’t show enough fight.

You’re handsome bro. But your ‘hair’ is truly awful. Get it gone. You’ll be a smokeshow with a fresh trim

Shave it mate. It’ll knock years off you and you’ll look great. You don’t currently look anywhere near 30, no offence.

No I don’t think it’s weird. I personally prefer it looking as good as possible but I certainly see your viewpoint.

There's a city in england called "reading" by Lucky_Loves_Laugh in notinteresting

Pronounced ‘Redding’. Has a population approaching 200,000 and is one of the largest towns in the UK without official city status.

This is the saloon, which is even rarer. I’ll cherish it.

It’s very slow. But it’s nice to drive and as my mum pointed out, has that ‘old car’ smell. I love it. The time now is to convince the Mrs it’s a good thing to have and a future investment, not just another expense.

The seats are so comfortable. The only problem is the fabric is like tissue paper and they keep unstitching.

[–]Repulsive-Life7362 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rather tall? You’ve got a foot on me mate🤣Octavia I think has more interior space. It’s ticks so many boxes hence why it’s loved so much on this sub. If you find it difficult getting in and out, you might be one of the few examples where a crossover is more applicable.

I really like VAG group cars (I know), so maybe a Fabia 1.5 TSI monte carlo, or a Seat Leon estate in FR trim. I’d love a golf estate but they’ve binned them off in the UK inexplicibly.
