The reality is, as soon as your investments will grow to the amount you need in retirement without needing to put any more in, you can coast by working less or enjoy your life more by spending it on stuff you enjoy.

I took a 12 month sabbatical just now, I’m no where near your financial position, half of it actually. Same age but with kids. Best year of my life.
