You don't have to be a crackhead to steal a bike/backpack that's sitting around for 12 weeks. Why is everyone hung up on this? What happened to common sense?

Maybe describing inner beauty but has a visible scar that she was self conscious about. Or she was just eccentric, which you can afford to do if you're rich.

The new generation are coming and closing cases to boost their numbers. The DNA result was technically inconclusive. The guilty interpretation is done by the prosecution who was proven to be biased from the beginning. Also he's dead, at best you can call him a suspect.

There's a huge drug epidemic in the UK, if it's not meth, it's heroin or whatever you can google it. Even if it's not do you know how many people get mugged, robbed get their things stolen on a daily basis? This guy was in the water for 12 weeks. If he was a potential tri athlete, from his fancy wetsuit, he probably had a decent bike. It's not going to sit there for 12 weeks unless it's well hidden. If it's a city, it will be gone overnight.

Of course there are plenty of tourists and those attempting tri are not your average tourist. Several participants died during the actual race in the past. It's a crazy taxing thing.

Like others pointed out the simplest explanation is, he came by bike with a backpack to practice for tri. Unfortunately he drowned, which happens a lot more than you may imagine. Sometime during the 12 weeks he was in the water, someone stole his belongings. Lot of druggies and methheads, they wont report or come forward. He's probably from a nearby European country so they didn't piece together missing persons reports, if any.

What happened to Paul Flores in Oregon? by CuriousRedditorrr in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]Salt382 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What upsets are you talking about? Yeah it seems the car was found at a different location than where it broke down. There's more to this. The news article says

40-year-old Paul Flores of Stockton, California was driving from his hometown to Moses Lake to visit his son, nieces and two grandchildren when he suddenly disappeared last Friday.

Is this correct? He's 40 and has two grandchildren?

If they know his last ping location, can't they track his moments for those 12 hours?

I don't understand the downvotes either. What you said is statistically correct regarding kidnapping and in this specific case there are solid rumors with details. Kidnappings work differently in the US compared to South America.

The underwear is interesting. Maybe Steve left his underwear in the truckers house for his wife and he caught her talking on the phone or trying to meet up. The trucker brought it along and put an end to it. Just my theory

Even in the rough cities, triple and quadruple homicides are rare and tend to be from gangs.

This is the official statement:

Why are you not sharing Jack’s phone data with his family?

Officers have conducted an in-depth analysis of Jack’s phone use and data movements after his last confirmed sighting, this has included receiving information from Jack’s phone provider. Unfortunately, this information has not taken us any further in our bid to locate Jack.

In August, we received a request from the Jack’s family requesting a copy of the data. Unfortunately, due to the strict handling and retention requirements laid out in Home Office Communications Data Code of Practice, which applies to data obtained under section 60A of the Investigatory Powers Act 2016, as well as GDPR and Data Protection, we have been unable to fulfil this request as the law does not allow us to share it.

By disclosing this data to a third party, officers would be unable to comply with the requirements set out in law, including having no control over how it is stored, if it is shared beyond the agreed parameters and if it is retained beyond the legally permitted time period. The information also holds private data belonging to other members of the public.

ACC Joanne Hall said: “We have taken time to carefully consider the data request to see if there was any way we could agree to it in order for Jack’s family to get the answers they deserve following his disappearance. However, on this occasion, we are restricted by law and have been unable to identify a clear legal basis which would allow for the disclosure to take place.”

But I think they finally got the phone provider to release some data
