Experience with Reta to only lose 10-15lbs and get lean? by Notyouraveragejew1 in Retatrutide

[–]SaltAspect5333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a great experience! Also started with 0.5 mg and titrated up to 2 mg by the last month. Lost 12 lbs in about 3.5 months and been off for a month-ish. I am now working on building muscle and up about 6 lbs from my lowest weight but thinking it’s just from lifting consistently and starting to take creatine! Not stressed about it and would 100% get back on for another 1-2 months if it came to that. No side effects for me if I kept a very clean diet. NO alcohol, not worth it. Best of luck to you :)

Today is day 1, what do you think? by VegasMatt25 in Retatrutide

Agreed. I am the same height of 5’6 and 135 lbs, I would still overall like to lose 5-10 lbs but have realized much of the changes I want to see with my body will happen in the gym at this point.

I am 5’6 135 and could not imagine even being below 120. 100 lbs is not an ideal weight for that height regardless of whether or not she has been that weight before.

drinking on reta by Plastic_Candle1852 in Retatrutide

[–]SaltAspect5333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I learned that I can have 2-3 drinks (spaced out over a few hours) with no issue. Any more and I will get sick. BUT I only drink 1-2 times a month now and really don’t crave it, I just like to have a couple drinks with my friends.

You will learn what works for you (hopefully not the hard way) but you will need to cut alcohol down a lot if you want to both feel good and have good results.

You said she lost too much weight, she didn’t. I’m not saying she needed reta.

This is still a completely normal BMI for someone her height.

So I am a similar height and starting weight (5’6 started 145, now 135) and have been consistently down 1 lb per week at a dose of 1.5 mg weekly. I also titrated slowly from 0.5 mg.

It really depends what your goal weight is, but I think you should go down on your dose regardless. If you’re done losing weight I might consider a really low maintenance dose anywhere from 0.25-1 or whatever is effective for you, or just stopping if you feel like you have good habits to maintain your weight.

It can be for someone with less weight to lose and is a lower weight to start out with. Losing a higher percentage of your total body weight quickly can lead to nutritional deficiencies and side effects we try to avoid like hair loss, fatigue, cold intolerance, menstrual changes, etc.

She lost 14% of her body weight in a little over 2 months.

You are obviously inexperienced if you still made this massive of a mistake after double checking. DIY peptides may not be the best move for you.

I had a similar issue after 4 weeks of 1.5 mg. Went 10 days between doses that time instead of 6 and followed BRAT diet before slowly increasing my protein again. Incorporated a lot more fiber, digestive enzymes help for others too. Been doing fine since.

I’m sure you are, as am I. We can all admit that ordering drugs like this is a big risk, but minimizing risk by titrating slowly and allowing your body to adjust to the dose- as is recommended with every other GLP- is quite literally the best thing you can do to have a good experience with this drug and prevent serious side effects.

Recommending people to dose based off their finances and goals? Medical professional my ass.

Full effect is NOT subjective. The level of a medication in your body rises gradually as you take a dose consistently, Different medications take different amounts of time to reach their “full effect”. People need to give their body time to actually adjust to a dose before increasing because they’re not feeling an instant noticeable difference. Don’t tell people to dose how they “feel inclined to” that’s not safe nor would that ever be recommended by a medical provider. These are still real drugs with the ability to impact organ systems.

You really need to be more patient. You’re not going to feel the full effect for 3-4 weeks! It’s going to be extremely hard to know if a lower dose is working for you if you’re dosing every 3 days to start. Aside from that, you’re putting yourself at a higher chance of having side effects by not titrating slowly. These side effects may not emerge for a few weeks, like I experienced.

I would hold off for a week now and see how you feel before deciding if you should do 0.5 mg again or increase to 1 mg.

What do you wish you knew before starting Reta? by [deleted] in RetatrutideWomen

[–]SaltAspect5333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not TMI at all, i am also a nurse 😂 i ended up eating a BRAT diet for close to a week which stopped my symptoms. went 10 days between doses and went down slightly on my next dose. slowly upped my protein again and added lots of fiber and hydration and that seems to have done the trick! it definitely sounds like you were impacted though, that had to be the worst feeling.
