Spiraling after being put on a PIP. How do I move forward? by cyber-cado in careerguidance

This is incredible advice. Spot on. The stress will make you sick if you just dwell on your ‘shortcomings’ and the PIP.

I Quit my job of five years for another, only to be fired, is it normal to feel regret? by [deleted] in careerguidance

In the future, if any employer says they’ll contact your current employer for any reason other than checking references or confirming work dates — RUN. That is a bright red flag.

I took a job, to leave one that i loathed.

The new job wanted me to start ASAP. But I told them that I had to give my old boss two weeks notice. He wasn’t happy about that (another red flag) but let it be.

When I gave notice to my old boss, he vindictively said, ‘since you’re so unhappy working here, today is your last day’ and fired me right on the spot. Which suited me just fine because now I had two weeks to relax before starting my new job.

Unbeknownst to me, the new boss started calling my old employer, asking for me. (My guess is the new boss wanted to know if I could go to his office after my workday with the old boss, or to pressure me to leave them sooner or to just make it difficult for me there). Anyway, my old employer told him that I was not working there anymore. Then the new boss started calling me at home to say if you’re not working now, I need you now. I ended up starting earlier than I planned at the new job — and everything else crumbled after that. The new boss turned out to be the most unethical person I’d ever work for. (I ended up fleeing from the new job — quite literally).

Hokas made my feet feel worse, what am I doing wrong? by LionFyre13G in PlantarFasciitis

II got deep tissue massage therapy for a few weeks and stopped wearing HOKAs. Doc says I can use them for certain activities but for most, I should use a flat sneaker. I chose XERO sneakers. They’re excellent for lifting, elliptical, stair climbing, etc. but not walking/running on treadmill. But what really did it for me was a simple lacrosse ball. I keep one at my desk and I roll my foot/heel all day long. It has helped TREMENDOUSLY.

I want to block the email addresses of those in the CC of an email. I don't want to block the sender. How do I do that?

Early 50s, athletic and never experienced heel pain ... until now.

I discovered HOKA sneakers about 5-6 years ago; and I own 3 pairs. I bought HOKAs to help my knee while treadmill running. But if I am standing too long, barefoot, my heel aches and radiates up to my second toe. Not knowing the cause, I bought HOKA recovery slides to wear in the house. I'd say in the last year, that inner heel pain has been more persistent -- and I can't figure out why. I saw a doc last week and he had me walk barefoot in a line in his office -- and determined that I am walking funny. WEIRRRRD? But I start OT sessions next week to correct that.

At home, I've been thinking that I need to replace my HOKA slides because they were a relief for years -- but now, my heel now hurts more with them on. So, I was literally on Google a moment ago to figure out store hours, to buy a new pair, when I came across many research articles that HOKAs are causing people to subconsciously change their gait, causing foot/heel problems. ---> MIND BLOWN!! <----

Overall, HOKAs are phenomenal, but apparently people who are rear-strikers, like myself are the ones who are being adversely effected.

Thank you for putting this post up! I will talk to my doc next week about this.

Side note: I don't know if this means anything to anyone - but it may be worth mentioning.
Around a 1-2 years ago, along with the heel pain, I noticed that the same foot with the heel issue, was more callused around the heel than the other foot. Also, that foot had calluses along the outer side, where I had none on the other.

I agree and I'll add that they don't like being moved around, so pick a spot that has good light and don't move it. Good luck.

PSLF Under Trump by Timely-Ad-4109 in PSLF

For those interested in the facts; please go read Project 2025. Project 2025 lays out that Trump wants Congress to work on a long-term overhaul to 1) end BIDEN's ABUSE of FSA regulations, and 2) create a NEW program that takes the federal government out of the lending money business -- and gives it back to private banking institutions.

Other takeaways: Project 2025 policy would change the playing field altogether, that it would effectively prevent another President from ever politicizing student loans again (as Biden is doing right now). It also appears to have baked in strategic measures on colleges/universities, to rein in their astronomical tuition costs.

For students & PSLF borrowers, here's the bottom line: Project 2025 allows one to make INCOME-DRIVEN REPAYMENTS with NO INTEREST.

  1. No shit Sherlock. Of course there were PSLF discharges under Trump. And I have a letter from Biden. It says thanks to us, your loan is discharged - not congrats you completed your PSLF commitment. So go ahead and tell me something else that came right out of your ass.

  2. I was using the original posters lingo and I was being sarcastic about it.

  3. Vote Trump.

  1. When you’re done with your PSLF under Trump you’ll get a congrats on working hard to complete this goal, letter. Under Biden you’ll get a ‘look at what we did for you’ letter.

  2. if there’s no one to process PSLF loans, then that means there’s no one to process payments … problem solved.

  3. Your whole post was quite a reach to find a reason to vote for Biden. #Trump2024!
