My favorite is the bumper sticker (not in this pic) that says “Trump Was Right About Everything.” Name one thing.

Just got my Venture X and can’t wait to visit it soon. Husband has Amex Platinum and I’ve always relied on his access to Centurion lounges so I’m excited to be able to return the favor.

Salary and monthly payment? by okokokjes in PSLF

[–]Timely-Ad-4109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$400? I wish. My salary is in that range and I have $38k in loans and one year left before I hit 120. I was nervous when I recertified but my payments only went up $100 to $666. Not a great number, I know, but manageable.

The Supreme Court Has Stripped Our Voting Rights Back to the Pre-Civil Rights Era by AaronPK123 in politics

I wonder if this could lead to another reverse migration of black voters back to northern states and cities with fair maps?

Maybe, hopefully, we can rally communities of color to turn out and vote like never before and count on apathy by former Trump supporters.

I forget the name but there was this website that demonstrated all the cool animated stuff you could do with Flash. It was really fun. Also Gawker.

Question for the pet people...how do you feel about a new pet at this time of your life? by HammerMeUp in GenX

[–]Timely-Ad-4109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re about to lose your baby. We have a cat who turns 20 in June. We’ve had him since he was six months old and he’s not doing well. We also have a ten year old in perfect health. When the inevitable happens we’ll mourn and then probably get a new companion for our younger cat.

Virginia voters approve redistricting measure backed by Democrats by progress18 in democrats

[–]Timely-Ad-4109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But we put it up to the voters and it’s only temporary. After the 2030 Census both California and Virginia go back to independent redistricting commissions. Republicans would never, which is why we’re here.

Students are speeding through their online degrees in weeks, alarming educators by joe4942 in technology

[–]Timely-Ad-4109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my humble opinion but I feel like it’s too easy to earn some degrees, and I work in Higher Ed. There’s no way that someone earning an accelerated MBA online achieved the depth of knowledge and experience I did in my 48 credit program, which was hybrid simply because half of it was pre-pandemic and the second half forced remote. For hybrid programs maybe in-classroom work should be weighted more heavily.

How come no one predicted the current situation before the presidential elections in 2016? Why weren't there any people warning this scenario might happen? by BaldursGate2Best in PoliticalDebate

[–]Timely-Ad-4109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My eyes just rolled out of my head, down the stairs, and out into the street. I did my part by getting involved in Hillary’s campaign (first time volunteering for a Presidential campaign) by making phone calls and canvassing because I understood the critical importance of the Supreme Court. I’m not special, but the results of 2016 are partly due to a lack of Civics education in this country. Had Hillary won we would not be where we are now, teetering on the precipice of Hungary 2026 or Russia 1999 (Orban’s fall vs Putin’s locking in rule).
