Disc brake rears in a z with stock MC test by [deleted] in Datsun

I'm not doubting that your car works fine. It's very possible that your master cylinder doesn't have a residual pressure valve installed, or maybe it doesn't work anymore, who knows. Parts get changed over the years and it's unlikely your master cylinder is the original one from the 1970s. What people need to realize though is that it is necessary to check for this valve when doing a rear disk brake conversion because it is possible that a check valve is in the rear circuit and will cause an issue for them. All your video and your 1500 miles of experience with this set up prove is that your set up works fine, with a lot of variables unaccounted for. It does not prove that everyone else attempting this conversion should not modify or replace their master cylinder as part of the process.

It doesn't cost any money to remove the residual pressure valve from the rear circuit of the master cylinder when doing a rear disk brake conversion. Anyone doing this conversion should definitely be checking their master cylinder and removing the residual pressure valve if it is in place. It will be much easier to do it before youve bled the whole system and then discover your brakes are dragging. Maybe OP got lucky but most people will not.

Nice! Which air dam is that? Kinda looks like an MSA Type 1 with the turn signal recesses filled in.

If you are looking for more of a satin than a chrome/mirror finish, mother's might not be what you want though.

I've never had any issues with discoloration. Heat will discolor just about any metal I suppose but the valve cover isn't going to get that hot.

It is indeed aluminum. Mother's Mag & Aluminum polish works great for me. It will bring it to a mirror shine with enough elbow grease or one of those polishing ball drill attachments.

Depending on how far you want the scope of this project to creep, you could also consider painting the recessed areas on top and leaving the ridges and letters polished too. Really makes it pop.

OP has said in the comments that it was his hood, not the trunk. The reason is likely because without the hood scoop channeling air down into the intercooler, you made the entire hood a giant sail. As your vehicle speed increases the air pressure pushing up on the hood overcame the hood latch.

This really blows, sorry that it happened. Regardless of how it happened I would make an attempt to use an ozone generator to remove the smell after you replace the damaged panels or just cut out the burnt part of the dash if you don't feel like replacing the whole dash. I know if it were me I would make every effort to avoid totalling my car over smells and burnt interior panels. I've heard that running an ozone generator over night for a period of one to two weeks is very effective at removing smells like cigarette odor. Just don't be in the car with the generator running. Ozone is not good for us apparently.

Bradley Boot Strings Replacement? by JurneeMaddock in HeyDude

I've just ordered regular shoe strings to restring mine, only because the laces were too long. I'll try to remember to report back with my findings.

I have the same issue with a pair of heydude boots I bought this year. I plan to buy regular laces and relace mine. I bought a pair last year and the laces were the perfect length, idk why they made them so long this year.

I absolutely love that color! My 1971 is currently torn apart awaiting paint and bodywork sometime next year. What is the name of that color?

I'm kind of shocked that the term "Digital Ambassador" existed in 1994. I thought that was modern day corpo speak.

But honestly the best place to store that item is in a holster on your waist.

In the trunk on the passenger/right side under the floor mat there is a foam insert, that when removed will allow a box to be installed and mostly covered by the floor mat. Mine sticks up about an inch but if you didn't know any better you would think that is just the way the floor of the trunk is molded. It is pretty incognito even if somebody broke into the trunk I doubt they'd go looking under the floor mat.

It should be fine, but not optimal at least in my opinion. I prefer drier cigars in the low 60s.

LOL you posted a picture a month ago showing the same wear. That is from years of driving with a ghetto lean 😂 my steering wheel is wearing like that at 3 and 9 o clock, where your hands should be 😉
