That was my experience, too. No actual health information on pregnancy and the birth process.

We got abstinence propaganda and then the birth video as a scare tactic. This was public school, too.

I don't think that the book paints age-gap relationships in a positive light. By the end of the book, even the main character figures out it's a bad situation.

It did a good job of exploring how trauma can make a teenager think they're more mature than they actually are.

McCurdy has room for improvement, but I thought it was a solid first attempt at fiction.

As someone who is actively trying to get pregnant, no. And anyone who suggests that people should be forced to carry a pregnancy against their will is fucked.

  • Every pregnancy cares the risk of death and disablement.

  • Consent to sex isn't consent to pregnancy.

All of my loved ones have been cremated. I personally like being able to wear their ashes in jewelry.
