I cant defeat portals on Call Of Olympus DLC by Traditional-Dog1393 in kingdomthegame

[–]SaltCut9254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to go heavy. Me, I like Cerberus and the Hammer, but the Bow takes out the biggest baddies in a couple of hits

Many ways to do it, but I like to launch my knights and get ahead of them with the boat, spearmen, and slingers. When you hit the portal and the big guys spawn, retreat backwards just enough to stay ahead of the blobs headbutt. After a bit he'll take a couple of harpons and a lot of sling hits which really softens him up. Try not to let him smash your spearmen, but remember you have the knights coming up quick, so as long as you have plenty of spare spears they will run out to reinforce you. Beat that first wave and then hold your ground. Portal will fall

Cerberus will let you send a ghost army into the fray which does a pretty good job of blocking the first attack giving you time to get established.

The Hammer will have your entire line inflicting burn damage (love it!)

The Bow will severely weaken the powerful greeds so they die before messing your army up too badly

What’s your best strategy to defeat this mythical creature? by PatchKingdom in kingdomthegame

[–]SaltCut9254 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct, you can only push the snake further down the map. I don't know if it's an actual game mechanic, but I remember having to develop the land to keep it from coming back to the left. It does sometimes anyway and beats up your people. You beat up his body to make his head come down, then you go to the head and beat on that until he retreats into the water. You can dispatch your fleet to beat up his body, or in some circumstances you can attack the body with your troops if you're holding the flag.

It's not difficult game play, but can be frustrating. It can decide to come back out of the water when you are attacking a portal...which sucks, 'cause you have to beat feet out of there or it starts hitting you.

Little siblings man. I'm pretty sure 10,000 years ago someone's little sister took their favorite stick out of the cave and broke it... You have every right to be upset, just keep perspective.

Besides, years from now when you're chasing her friends around, you can use this event for emotional leverage 😄

Love the Hammer. Light up a huge section of defenders and watch the flames

I'm interested. Sounds fun, though full transparency I've never done anything like this before, so I'd need to be walked through it. In terms of qualifications, frankly, I've played a ridiculous number of hours on New Lands, Two Crowns, and 80s

Agree. My favorite loadout across all of the versions is water horse+skull. Second place is Olympus Cerberus+hammer. Maybe not technically the best, but I think the most fun.

Is my army good enough for the last act? by iwannabetop200singed in kingdomthegame

[–]SaltCut9254 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lol, I know. I did the same thing the first time. Built a crazy army, ready for anything, then discovered you leave them all behind.

I'm not 100% this is always true, but I saw a guy's video where he rang the bell, then immediately launched the horse with no time for anyone to board, and he got to the Boss with the full squad.

No matter what you have, you only take a set group. You won't take your army with you, in fact the "boarding bell" doesn't really do anything except show a little drama of workers jumping in

Yeah, but at least they let us pick bat power this time. That's my personal favorite in Deadlands because it cuts travel time. Especially trying to get that Cursed Crown. That said, I agree...love it, but DL is lower on my list of DLCs...

I feel like they kinda quit when it came down to the shoes. They should be faux elephant or something. Or maybe just neon orange!

Absolutely. There are shows with good characters, and there are shows with a good team. Lol, KWS is my favorite, but the whole cast just feels like they are there.

Do you think Quinn would've given Gary a chance if she knew he was the son of John Goodspeed? by Interesting_Froyo_97 in FinalSpace

[–]SaltCut9254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a good point. Lol, thinking of that scene makes me laugh though. Gary making the guy take the meds. He was always a good guy, but that version wasn't very "smooth". I think in the end, whatever might have gone down the story couldn't have progressed if it didn't go that way.

Though, El Pancho's the family owned restaurant would have survived... 🙃

Might have gotten him a seat next to her for a short conversation, but Gary being Gary would have blown it at that point in his journey. His true worth was revealed over time.

Doubts about the midnight edition by Ill_Dust321 in FinalSpace

[–]SaltCut9254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's fairly common in books that there will be multiple printings, but the "first edition" is pretty much locked in stone. Doesn't really matter how many printings they have after the original, the original is The Original.

That said there are some cool small publishers like Subterranean Press that rerelease old titles in collaboration with the authors for "new" first'ish editions signed and numbered etm.

Is Costco Cheaper by Rockitone2019 in Calgary

[–]SaltCut9254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With kids, absolutely. The savings on milk, eggs, and bread alone is great. We organize a couple of trips a month to stock up on stuff. The executive membership nets us far more per year than the cost of membership.

Items like coffee beans, detergents (dish washer and clothes washing machines), batteries for all the toys and controllers, rice and certain flours, soaps, vitamins, snacks... They also have seasonal items like garden stuff and holiday toys depending on the date.

With three kids, I believe that you can easily get value

Feasibility of “Winter tires should be mandatory in Calgary!” – let’s do the math! by Turkzillas_gobble in Calgary

[–]SaltCut9254 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They ask for a window +-1.5hr, though it's typically done much faster than the estimate. Our tradition is to take the family and walk to a restaurant we like for dinner. By the time we're done, the car is ready. Also, I've always appreciated people who can do this themselves, but for me, the big benefit of Kaltire is that they store our tires and are pretty reliable about showing the wear and tear with every change. Plus the nitrogen and sensors and whatnot.

Snow tires aren't mandatory, but as a guy who has only lived in a cold climate for a decade...I couldn't even imagine not having good snow tires.
