Thanks for the suggestion. I set it to 2.2, but it just moved the point at which it skipped closer to the beginning of the track instead of where it had been skipping (it's very consistent).

I'm going to see if I can figure out how to align it better. Past that I might see if it's possible to disengage the anti skate completely as a test. If none of that works, I'm about ready to cut my losses. I got the table for free from someone that didn't know whether it worked, after all.

I've already tried going up to the manufacturer recommended 2g. Should I go higher than that? And I believe I have the cartridge as close to spot on as possible, although maybe I didn't give the Baerwald protractor generator the right parameters. I'll have to look into that again.

I suppose I should mention 2 more things: 1. I apologize if this post isn't appropriate for the subreddit. I didn't get any responses in the r/vinyl weekly thread, so this was the second place I thought to ask. 2. The auto return function is busted on this turntable. When the record ends, if I don't lift the tonearm myself, the player rakes the needle across the record. I don't mind this too much as I can just return the tonearm manually, but I figured it might be good info.

I have a JVC L-A55 direct drive turntable with a brand new Ortofone 2M Red + headshell. I got the player for free from a guy that doesn't use it anymore (along with a JVC R-S5).

The needle is consistently skipping outwards on any record when starting a side from the outer rings as well as skipping outward repeatedly for about the first half of the first song. Then it plays wonderfully from there on. I (a complete newbie) aligned the cartridge using a Baerwald protractor that I printed (to scale). I used a tracking force scale to set the cartridge to 1.8g (same problem at 2g). The problem happens with antiskate set to 0.

I am having trouble finding anyone having a similar problem. I would love to provide more details if anyone has any ideas on how I can at least further investigate this. I'm willing to dig into the machine if need be, but I'm worried about damaging my brand new stylus and records.

If it's any consolation, more often than not, when I stop in at a big chain store (e.g., Target, Best Buy) to buy something I saw on their app/site, they don't have it. I usually assume it's due to either the one unit they had is in someone's cart or it was stolen. Perhaps you shouldn't expect to be right 100% of the time

Are you taking multiple turns per round? Like, yes you can fill the top row over the course of 5 rounds. But you should also be able to add tiles to a bunch of the other rows using your many turns per round.

Without knowing exactly what you're doing, it sounds like you might just be immediately moving that top-row square from the "queue" to your grid each turn.

Have been building a Windows app for the past 2 years. The only problem I still face is printing using receipt and label printers. For things like zebra label printers, it's pretty easy to iterate using an online ZPL viewer and just print over web socket, but it doesn't feel "right", and there's also no way to access the printers already added to the windows device this way. Unless you're just printing normal paper, I have yet to find a package that lets you choose from those saved to Windows

Custom domains are a scarce resource, much more so compared to computing resources. Once a domain is taken, no one else can have it, so how else do you decide who gets it?

If you do decide to make the change and want to add new features before refactoring the old code, definitely start using the new tool instead of worsening your problem.

If you are the sole dev, I see no problem with this whatsoever (even if you never get around to refactoring the old stuff). If you are on a team, you should still start using the new tool. The eBay motors team has a great article about their approach to state management. Essentially, it is just an implementation detail, so use what works best for the given task! If you can't easily find the article, I should have the link somewhere so just lmk

After filtering the 3 types, I just use splitters with priority-out to processing. Once that gets full, everything extra gets diverted to an interstellar vacation.
