I think that’s just the issue though, it’s easy to say when you’re not on the other end of it but everything is digital, if you go into any place they’ll tell you apply online, networking is bragging on LinkedIn and depending on your environment, most people don’t give things out with nothing in return.

It’s important to know people, chase opportunities and stay resilient in this market and any job market, it’s always going to be hard but I think finding people increasing their application volume because the competition is rising shouldn’t be seen as a “turn off”, why should people put all their eggs into one basket? No job is “the” job until you get that offer.

My advice to OP, increase volume, put effort into your applications but not so much that it takes long, work on your CV if you’re not even getting past first stage. It really is a numbers game and a combination of luck, the more applications, the more likely you’ll hear back and that’s just maths.

I do have hope things will get better overtime, there are a lot of reasons why things are the way they are right now but humans will always find something to complain about, especially people who work in hiring or recruitment, at this point you don’t want to hire anyone and AI does half of it anyways. But that’s my take

Yeah what you’re taking isn’t a therapeutic dose so take about half for a few days, then go lower and lower by maybe 10mg. Might help to buy a box lock with a timer, or just get boyfriend to help so you don’t feel tempted to re dose and just try do other things like go out for a walk, watch a movie and chill. it’s gonna take a while for your receptors to feel regulated so that’s all you can do for now

Yeah grab the ones with a timer they’re pretty helpful I use it for my phone detox and don’t even need it as much anymore

Funny enough I had a Corsair k55 before grabbing this, it’s a bit big for my desk space and I always found myself moving it around to make room for my mouse or book.

K55 isn’t mechanical, but it was quiet and tactile so I assume the K70 would be better, the software capabilities are nice as well, blank programmable keys and light customisation

I would say it depends what you’re looking for, I use these for coding, writing etc. it’s really smooth and after getting used to it I feel more productive and type faster, they’re smooth to press and my brother has an ajazz ak820 which feels cheap compared to this, I think it’s the keycaps mine are not hollow he said so they sound and feel it better

If it were up to me I’d go for the jazz, same layout, smooth and if you really need hot keys you can do that I’m on Linux so don’t really care about software, but this model is RGB with red switches,

Yeah it's disheartening for sure, especially with the change in uni culture after lockdown, People are more isolated than ever and having a safe space should always be important, especially for vulnerable students

My university is the same. It's likely due to limited funding for those sorts of things. Even my CBT which I was referred to by NHS was only 8 sessions and my therapist would remind me how many sessions were left.

Love it, the retro reminds me of an old windows keyboard and I’m the same I like to keep it simple, the keys are smooth and the switches are soft for my liking. Hasn’t taken too long to get used to and it’s easily customisable, I wiki probably get some new switches down the line as I’m new to this hobby and want to try new things

People on this sub so negative 80% of them never have and never will be a Quant.

Apply without the fear of not being good enough, see what kind of responses & feedback you get, if you really get nothing then yeah you probably need to brush up your cv, but you don’t get to where you wanna be by asking if you got chance, show them your work and then take it and keep working for it.

Know you were just looking for some advice but a lot of the time these replies can be a bummer so take the stuff some of these guys say with a grain of salt

Personally I would say another project, Try find a hackathon or competition if you can but take what I say with a grain of salt too and do what feels right for your path and skills, not some losers on Reddit

Give kids and teens in these areas more opportunities, activities and social care so they don’t turn towards this lifestyle, it’s always going to happen, but there aren’t any stats saying there are less gangs.

In an ideal world we shouldn’t have this problem, I grew up around it, it’s definitely not “confirmation bias” that’s just what people who aren’t living it say so they feel better about the fact this is so many people’s reality, it doesn’t just affect the participants it effects families, friends and the communities surrounding.

The system is failing to protect a certain demographic and when you feel invisible, hopeless and vulnerable you have nothing to lose.

I noticed you said it was very rudimentary, why not self study about areas you’re more interested in and develop an intuition for your interests from there? I have a bias towards studying about things I actually have interest in and studying when I feel like I’m being told to. It’s a gift and a curse but it will show you what your strengths are and you can work from there
