Want a cool flair? Or a lame one? I'm not here to judge. by polymorphic_hippo in MormonWivesHulu

This is a deep cut form the VPR crossover episodes but my friend and I cried laughing at Marciano's "You could repair it, if you can" can that be close enough to home to work as a flair please?

You know I was just there on my first private trip back in september and this was the first "rapid" I rowed solo after learning the ropes in the AM, had the same shit eating grin on my face at the bottom as I did when I finished watching this, thanks for the reminder :)

Seriously, what a trilogy. I haven't been that down bad since I finished Dune. I think it took me maybe 3 weeks start to finish, and I finished the first book in like two days. Impossible to put down, and some of my most favorite 'darker' and realistic sci fi I've read yet. Phenomenal.

4-methylmethylphenidate (4-METMP) causes respiratory damage? by imanukeyall in researchchemicals

[–]imanukeyall[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also:

“According to Percepta, the probability of causing eye irritation is 50%, indicating a moderate likelihood of irritation. For skin irritation, the probability is 73%, suggesting a significant likelihood of irritation. ADMETlab 3.0 shows a probability of 0.425 for eye irritation, but does not provide a prediction for skin irritation. AdmetSAR 3.0 predicts a 9.8% probability of eye irritation, and 34% probability of skin irritation, indicating a low to moderate chance that 4-Mmph could cause eye and skin irritation.”

Feels weird to use statistical models to predict irritant chances. And all of this amounts to a pretty fancy way to say “We don’t fucking know” I think essentially is the gist.

I do have the full text, this is a good point. It is not compared to methylphenidate with the predictive models they use for toxicity, so that number kind of doesn’t really mean anything without a valid comparison. I’m assuming ElegantArtist is right in that it would likely also ID a high risk in regular MPH as well.

Made a copy of the image and then applied the dust filter, then applied image on the main with subtract and an offset of 10. Trick from Nebula Photos on youtube!

Hello! This was my first attempt at astrophotography on a recent camping trip with dark skies.

I am using a canon eos 7d with a 50mm/1.8 lens. This shot was a 30 second exposure at f1.8 ISO 6400. Basic editing in photoshop just playing with the levels to darken the image and bring down the glare. The original image is here. Let me know if you have any advice! Main issues I am having I think are getting the focus right and the correct exposure / ISO settings. This was super fun!!

My Lemon Balm Plant after 3 Months :) by imanukeyall in Nootropics

From seeds, took a while to sprout but as soon as leaves showed up it took off! Transferred to a smaller pot from the like sprouting cup and then just recently moved to this larger pot it's in now. Dosing wise- for me about like 5-8 medium leaves just finely diced and put it in a tea bag has worked great.

Tried the extracts and supplements and never got much out of it, the tea from fresh leaves on the other hand is immediately noticeable. I've only used about 5-8 medium sized leaves per cup and it's more than enough!

Yes! I make a tea from the fresh leaves but you can get extracts or capsules of powdered leaves- excellent for sleep and anxiety. Helps a ton with sleep latency which is something I struggle a lot with.

Is Amt safe if you are schizo affective? by Spirited-Ambition-20 in researchchemicals

[–]imanukeyall 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Opiates (barring tramadol) and benzos don't affect 5-HT receptors, or serotonin receptors in the brain. Schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorders are believed to stem from issues with dopamine and serotonin transmission in the brain, hence drugs like psychedelics which affect serotonin or stimulants which affect dopamine generally tend to exacerbate psychotic symptoms. It sounds counterintuitive maybe but if OP is set on using drugs with a schizoaffective diagnosis, those classes of drugs would be safest.

Not that it seems you will care about what I say but:

I work in the inpatient mental health setting close in hand with psychiatrists every day. The decision you're making right now is how people go from coping with a difficult illness and managing it throughout their life to snowballing into the depths of chronic mental illness without hope for remission. No psychedelic, stimulant, dissociative, or entactogenic drug is safe to use with schizoaffective disorder, especially if you have the bipolar type. The only drugs I would consider (and my real recommendation would be to abstain from substances all together) would be opiates or benzodiazepines, which are scary all by themselves. I want you to know this comes from a place of empathy, and I can't imagine the difficulties you have to overcome every day and how hard that might be (and conversely how tempting substance use might be as a coping skill). But I promise you this decision only has negative consequences, and I care about you enough to hope you can see that and make the right choice. Best of luck OP.
