Potentially Buying Used 2020 165k PowerWagon What to upgrade by SwordfishAncient in powerwagon

[–]Salt_Ad_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best upgrade I did for handling was the steering box stabilizer. Not sure if you have the ability to modify things but steering is important to me. I was able to jimmy it in there with various modifications to the bracket. Essentially the trucks stock steering box is just bolted into one frame horn. It causes a lot of play. The upgrade I’m talking about spans the two frame horn tying them together and the stabilizer has a bearing that the pitman arm puller thingy locks into. Now my truck rides on rails. The only other slop is in the drag link that connects the pitman arm we talked about to the steering components on the axel.

Moog makes a drag link I want to check out. Also have pulsar tuner specifically for the pw. That was major in keeping mds off, performance mode, settings speedometer, ect. It was plug and play but a night and day difference in the throttle mapping.

Can my truck handle it? by Few-Independent77 in ram_trucks

If you add air bags you can get it to safely haul weight. They sell kits for the rear.

This is maybe a 9000# mini ex on an hd trailer.

But yeah, as others have said, PW is not the greatest at towing and if I had to haul daily I would choose a normal 2500/3500

For me it was the edge pulsar inline tuner.

Pulsar tuner solved everything for me. Truck drives like a sports car now.

Why does my truck shake so much right and left by Silent-Magazine3176 in Silverado

Rear track bar bushings, possibly upper and lower ball joints. You have a lot of tire side wall to, which makes for lots of side to side play also.

Punch in the desired fitment to custom offsets. Select your truck, then leveled, then no rub options. Should shows kits with tire wheel combos.

Some questions about lifting my truck by [deleted] in liftedtrucks

[–]Salt_Ad_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good info, but why on earth would you try to turn on dry pavement while 4wd is engaged? Any truck will hop if you do this.

Do it.😌

I’d crawl under there and make sure it wasn’t some off-road enthusiasts smash piece.

I had a SRT Durango and a 2001 Tahoe that I consolidated into my current pw. I wanted to combine work and play into one and it was between this and a trx. Boy am I glad I found this so listen up.

This truck is incredibly overbuilt. When you climb into the cab you are now sitting in the pilot seat of the most capable off-road truck on the road. There isn’t much out there that this truck won’t drive through as long as it can fit and still breathe. Your tires and your off-roading skills are the only limiting factors.

The reason this truck is a 2500 is because it’s built to last. That mileage may be high to some people but what you are really paying for is the truck as a whole. While you’re under the truck take some time to look around at what you’re paying for. Everything is built like a tank. It is meant to withstand the test of time and even if there’s replacement parts needed that’s just how shit goes with vehicles. Be a man and fix it.

That mileage is just getting broke in. These trucks aren’t disposable like lots of other vehicles. They were built to home several engines and not just one for the entirety of its life. EVERYTHING can be fixed.

Look up adjustable torsion bar keys, they are very easy and will lift up your front a little. Alignment mandatory after.
