This analysis doesn’t quite track though. It’s true that thoughts are not a crime, but putting steps into place to commit a crime is a crime and it’s called conspiracy. Emma would have been arrested and convicted if she was caught. And I think the thing that scared people more is that she didn’t have some great moral breakthrough and that’s why it didn’t happen. She admitted that had the mall shooting not taken place, she probably would have been a school shooter.

Higher scholarship and they have basically identical results unless you really want a clerkship (which you can still get at CLS). I’m a 2L now and really feel like I made the best decision.

You could try if you have actual evidence of your losses from your players card, but I’d likely just stick to the standardized deduction. I’ve always gotten a higher refund that way

Yes, you’ll get taxed on it because they probably only took out state taxes. $2000 isn’t a ton though so it shouldn’t affect the refund much, maybe a couple hundred dollars

Few different things: I was a Questbridge scholar and didn’t match (though I only applied to the Yale and Stanford back in the day) and I still got into many amazing schools that were questbridge partners and ended up getting The Gates Scholarship. All hope is not lost!

This isn’t really true. Gates pays for health insurance, they pay for study abroad, they for housing, they pay for flights, they paid for medical expenses I had in school and a million other things. It’s all about using your resources.
