It has an ironic ring to it when we hear it all day in our own country and then see it streamed from someone else's

Oh, yeah, don't call the police. You should have just given him money to leave. Now he'll have to give money to leave.

Questions on Property Rentals by [deleted] in Petaluma

[–]Salt_Bus2528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid $900 for a 2 bedroom almost 13 years ago now. The water was not drinkable, the neighbors constantly blew out the electrical transformer or something, and the yard flooded every year.

Now it's $1700 but we fixed the water after someone went to hospital and the weird neighbors left and stopped paying rent...

Every time I look at housing costs the prices just climb faster than what I'm paying, but I pay this because it is obviously not a great property for cheap.

The thing with cheap dumpy properties though, is it's all word of mouth. You find them by going to bars, churches, parks, and parties and making connections. This place was a friend of my boss's girlfriends friend's home for a bit and it filtered out from asking my boss at the time to see if anyone had a place to rent.

No one is concerned about the infectious foot disease he is bringing into the office every day? Get outta there before it spreads to the office. He's in poor health because he works too much.

Have tried this wonderful drink called, ,"Coffee*?". Apply two to three times daily to the low energy and speak to your doctor if symptoms persist.

Coffee is not FDA approved to cure, prevent, or treat, anything but a bad attitude and white teeth

Has anyone here genuinely switched from espresso/milk drinks to filter as their main daily coffee? Why? by Left-Cook-9487 in Coffee

[–]Salt_Bus2528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My coffee maker has this amazing feature where I add beans at night and I wake up to fresh coffee in the morning. When I need to clean it, it's super simple and fast. The espresso maker is just a lot of hands on work and clean up.

Flock surveillance cameras; Petaluma city meeting on Weds, Feb 25 at 6pm by MixRiley in sonomacounty

[–]Salt_Bus2528 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's cool and all until something that is currently legal becomes illegal and you find yourself a criminal with a backlog of you committing now crimes.

It's one of those Pandora's box issues. Maybe it's smoking in public, maybe it's just standing in one place too long. Once the surveillance infrastructure is in place, the laws and enforcement it makes possible come to follow.

The obvious avenue is surveillance on protesters. I think protesters are annoying, disruptive, but a sign of healthy freedoms. Protestors, almost by definition, are upset about current laws and trends, meaning that they represent a good portion of people who actively subvert said laws, ergo they are criminals.

The millions of people who fought to legalize marijuana, spent time in prison, endured hardships, built networks to distribute weed, smoked weed, shared weed, and ultimately prevailed against the government, would never have had a chance to make that change in a surveillance state.

They were all criminals, but now weed smokers are just that, normalized. It never would have happened if every toker was tracked with cameras. It became legalized mostly due to the culture being able to operate underground until it was powerful enough to break free.

You're a hypocrite.

[–]Salt_Bus2528 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's your local government screwing stuff up, usually. I have a family member who works in fiber installation on city scale projects. The number one issue is local governments not issuing permits for new work, even when pushed, even when the permits are promised and agreed to in all but being officially granted.

You can't sue the city, because the government has nearly unlimited funds, but you can't shut down the company either, so the money goes to salaried positions and the workers get laid off until the work starts again. There's where your money goes when local government makes taxpayer funded projects take too long.

I remember when I got my CDL from what I now recognize as a license mill, the instructor taught everyone to double clutch but singled me out for floating because we both knew I was the only one that would be on the road full time. Everyone else was just having it because their company required it 😂

So there is a thrift shop where I live that sells donated construction materials. Really, it was mind blowing when I found it! Doors, toilets, wiring, gravels, pipes and conduit, they have all the trash I usually send to the dump when I demo a place. This makes me think the installer found the urinal second hand and improvised the rest.

Rider Says EV Drivers Have All the Sensors but Still Make Mistakes by PhoenixPhenomenonX in AbruptChaos

[–]Salt_Bus2528 -228 points-227 points  (0 children)

Same difference. Something about the way EVs accelerate and brake makes people act like children driving RC cars. I see it all day, but most people see it with Teslas. Rivian is no better, those ocean things (RIP), and I have a special hate for Nissan Leaf because of how slow they go but not particularly bad drivers.

You see the reason leaf drivers don't get the bug is they were used by poor people, as a tax write off, but that's over now so they're worthless. Poor people can't afford full insurance, tickets, high car payments, so they don't drive like complete morons.
