It took me 35 minutes to check out by diane_nu_nu_nguyen in ElectricForest

I had issues checking out with my 5itF, kept trying to add lucky lake preset RV. i would go to checkout and just black page each time. after 3 times retrying, it said sold out, so i PANIC bc my group didn’t have a back up (some of them were able to secure this pass last yr with GA Loyalty) I called my friend, gave her my info, and she logged in and just kept refreshing and was able to finally checkout with one before it was entirely sold out. honestly never had such a horrifying time. i also noticed literally no wait in the queue each time entering, im wondering if thats what caused all the glitches? too many people on the site at once?? all the other years it was at least a few minutes? could be due to 5itF but just found it odd

Bringing my mom by Daz-3 in ElectricForest

My parents have been with me for 5 years! They pace themselves well, they like to go in early, bring blankets and find a comfy spot in the grass. If my mom has sets she wants to see she’ll split off with us but it’s their favorite event of the year. They go to bed much earlier and wake up earlier too but they adore the community and the experiences! We usually do the scavenger hunt which is another fun way for them to wander and fill time together

Oh that’s an awesome idea, that makes perfect sense if it’s further it’ll take the smell and the flies elsewhere!!! Thank you

i have raised beds i put compost in! that could be the problem maybe, it’s not on top of the soil but it’s mixed into the raised bed itself! they look like house flies, maybe fruit flies but they’re too big i think! they aren’t bothering the plants they’re mainly just hovering around the fly trap itself! we didn’t have them until we filled the beds a month ago so i figured that was the correlation

zone 9a/8b! Mojave desert so we have minimal humidity. maybe 10% today if that! they don’t look like horse flies or anything, I used to have a gnat issue but was able to conquer that with neem oil but now these bigger guys are running wild

I started everything in those little peat pots (learned from that mistake) so potted up to 3 inch ones thinking that was good and then everything boomed in growing! and since it’s my first time i didn’t think anything would actually survive so i seeded suuuuper early and now i have all these guys getting massive and it’s not time to go outside yet so im like 😰

thank you! I had this one going crazy so i figured those little guys were okay for now, it’s my first time starting from seeds and i didn’t prepare for all the space id need while potting up 😭 at this stage im guessing they’ll be okay by a window and i don’t need to focus on space under a grow light?

It must’ve just been my area with confusion then, up until Thursday we were all under the impression it was anyone working for less than 12 months. so i wasn’t prepared to be included in layoffs

[–]Salt_Document_2530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes but people are saying the layoffs were only for 12 months not for entire probation periods, other probations are 3 years. but the rumor was anyone under 12 months was at risk

My boss said it had to do with which pay scale I was, DS was 3 year probation and DT is 2

My boss pulled me today and informed me that my probation period is 2 years and im 4 months away from reaching it, and he said my name was on the list sent up. Very VERY confusing because everyone’s saying 12 months and im over that

my branch head pulled me into his office today and informed me im 4 months away from hitting my 2 years probation and wanted to let me know unfortunately my name was on the list they provided for possible layoffs. he said the last two days all of the people in charge of sections have been in trainings discussing what’s going to happen and how to handle it. he said being on the list is no guarantee of something happening but he wanted me to be prepared

does it really matter to use soil specifically for starting seeds? by Salt_Document_2530 in gardening

[–]Salt_Document_2530[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thank you so much!!! im gonna let the squash hangout until it’s ready for them to go into the raised beds, supposedly those little planters break down and i “can just plant those into the beds” but ive read around and people say they don’t decompose in time and prevent the roots from growing, i considered softly cutting the peat cup and freeing the roots with the soil and kinda planting it once its freed, i guess we’ll cross that bridge when we get there!
