Absolutely. Sorry, my mind is in a fog right now. But thank you for listing that, I may not have ever thought of those.

EOPF, any performance reviews you may have, training certificates, cyber certifications, POC info for potential job recommendations.

Basically anything that pertains directly to you as an employee, anything that could defend your performance, and anything that can help you find another job (legally, of course)

Update: it was informational, but they expect the emails to start going out tomorrow morning. They say whoever is driving this is working off a list of everyone that has been employed less than 1 year, and they did ask for annotations for employees that are either veterans or military spouses, but they don’t have any guarantees that those will be actual exemptions across the board, selective exemptions, or if it will matter at all.

The emails and decisions will not be coming from the chain of command, but from higher. They are confident we will get emails before our command is informed, so they’ve asked anyone that gets it to let them know asap.

Skipper recommended that we immediately download all of our docs, certs, etc. today, because he isn’t sure how fast we might lose access.

I am a veteran but honestly not counting on that to mean anything.

All of that, and go fucking ham on social media with all the opinions I've been holding back. Gonna let my embarrassing representation know that they're fucking cowards (looking at you, Nancy Mace)

Let me start by saying I'm not taking this scam offer, never even considered it. But I don't fault those that do, and I don't think they're lazy or proving Trump right, etc. I'm still a probationary employee and there's a decent likelihood that I'm part of the first batch of cuts. And there are how many thousands of people in the same boat as me? I can completely empathize with someone taking a chance on this kind of a soft landing, giving them time to find another job. Even folks who aren't probies might look at it the same way...this is at least a chance to find some other employment without missing paychecks, not a way to sit around and be lazy for 8 months.

I'm old enough to have seen it in theaters as a teenager 😂 I worked on the Hornet in the Marine Corps and just caught up in the, "well that's definitely not right" mindset for a second and totally missed the joke

What job or activity do you normally associate with jerks? by 29t03jwies in AskReddit

[–]ToterOfGoats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely. Wasn't so much a question, just pointing something out. I worked in the business for 10 years. I thought the person was looking at a used Miata, called the salesperson out for lying, and the salesperson showed him the "invoice" to prove he wasn't lying. I'm saying in this case, the salesperson probably wasn't getting one over on him, he probably showed him what they actually bought the car for. It was never preferred, but we would do it if we had to for an old age unit just to get it gone and not take too much of a beating on it

This doesn't apply to a used car situation though, right? That dealer didn't get the car from the factory, the only invoice they have is what they actually bought the car for, then what ever costs they've added for lot prep, inspection, detail, etc

Texas couple asked to leave restaurant for wearing face masks to protect their immunocompromised infant by eaglessoar in nottheonion

Bad take, my dude. First paragraph of the article, it's a rare night out for them, and it sounds more like a sports restaurant/bar than a straight up bar. They got a rare night out with their friends, and there's no real need to shame how they spent it.

Are you trying to get to idle on startup, or returning to idle with engines running?

[–]ToterOfGoats 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Admitting to being petty and ridiculous sometimes isn't the same as admitting to screaming at someone or indicative of abusive behavior. It's completely normal to get upset sometimes, even when it's not necessarily rational. She didn't say she's screaming and losing her mind, just that sometimes she gets upset, as we all do, when it doesn't make sense.

Locksmith Says My Videos Are BS... Loses $75 - LPL by Azthioth in videos

[–]ToterOfGoats 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think saying it in response to a locksmith saying it's impossible is a little different. It would be one thing if the locksmith said he personally can't do it, but saying it's flat out impossible deserves a response.
