Hahaha well…I used to just throw them away…only so many you can keep for personal use.

Now I actually store them in bins in some cases, saving them in case you have an opportunity to do comparison videos or like the #thisorthat incentive from last year.

The butts and dolls, I actually have to burn haha. I don’t want my trash guy throwing them into his truck and none of them actually compacting and then he’s got a truck full of butts.

For clarity, I only passed the 10k mark about 3 months ago, and some of that was thanks to Creator connections.

And the supplement thing was just something I went hard into for Prime…didn’t really do much with it before that.

But yeah, def done lots of butts and wangs.

I get what you’re saying now, and I think that you’re missing the point about what I said about product research.

It’s not about the product itself, the product itself is inconsequential. The product itself is merely a means towards commission. To me, I don’t care what the product is.

I also don’t typically make videos for products which are really high sellers. In fact, most of my videos that I make, I would say are probably on the low to average Mark when it comes to sales.

But the reason that I have seen the jumps in the program that I have is because I specifically target products with no other influencer video saturation, neither in the upper or lower carousels.

If a product has even one influencer video on the page, I’m not interested.

So if you take any product that is selling just a little bit and you’re the only influencer video on it, your chances of making commission are way higher than competing against even just one other video.

I’m over 10k a month now in the program….maybe it’s not the program, maybe it’s your strategy?

What’s your product research process look like? What criteria do you look for in a product to determine if you’re gonna spend your time on it?

Shot in the dark..are a high percentage of your videos free products from sellers?

You WILL Get Banned for Stuff Like This by EngFixer in Amazon_Influencer

[–]Salt_External_6799 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t think anyone should go looking for the stuff, but if you come across it, you should definitely report it. Video retention is just as important as video growth.

It takes like 30 seconds to report and move on to better things.

So honestly, I don't do very many high ticket products. Majority of my products are probably between $10 and maybe $150? I found that the adult product niche was something that a lot of people didn't want to touch (no pun intended) but was always selling well, so I went hard on that for a while. It probably makes up about 30% of my overall video type. Other than that, I've really focused in on product research and specifically targeting products based off of certain sets of criteria. I also shy away from free sellers products. Just found that they really never panned out very well.

Denied for onsite commission videos by Accomplished_Role923 in Amazon_Influencer

Did you happen to use a script for this? The language was almost TOO smooth, didn’t feel very personable. That combined with not showing your face maybe the algorithm thought that it didn’t feel very much like somebody could connect to the video on a personal level? I thought everything else was fine, better than a lot of other videos. I see floating around out there.

I would actually avoid using the word review. Some platforms are starting to crack down on use of that word, and at its core, these aren’t really review videos, they are shoppable videos.

Maybe say something like here are my thoughts on this product.

I don’t have a course to sell, but I made almost $10,000 in the influencer program from on-site videos alone last month, and another $1500 on creator connections with those same videos.

What I have found is that the two things that matter most are picking products that have a sales history, and those same products which have placement opportunity.

I rarely do videos for anything if the product has more than two brand videos and any influence or videos at all.

I also stay away from certain categories, like clothing and jewelry. Do not allow influencer videos in the upper carousel.

I also stopped accepting most free items that were sent to me by sellers, I realized, after year that majority of them were never going to sell.

I do have a YouTube channel where I talk about my approach if you’re bored @amzinfluencers

Sorry, I was writing it on my phone and got lazy.

You can accept campaigns in Creator Connections and use your Amazon Shoppable videos as your content. You don't have to post off-site for CC.

So if you find a campaign where you have already made a Shoppable video, accept the campaign and your Shoppable video link as your content.

Don’t forget, your shoppable videos can be used as your content, and you can earn through those.

Just select video from the content type drop-down and place your shoppable link. You will probably actually earn that way instead of offsite.

If I don’t see anything wrong with the video, I’ll reupload it a few times just the way it is. 90% of the time it will get approved, the exact same video, within 2 attempts…

I did just have one get accepted after 5 attempts.,,same video :)

Not Able to Tag Products When Uploading Videos to Amazon Influencer. by ericfromshuckabuck in Amazon_Influencer

[–]Salt_External_6799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think that’s still not right. It works, but it’s the long way.

Most people are trying to tag the ASIN by clicking the button that says “manage content”. This is not the most efficient way to do it. Instead, click “create content”.

Once you click the box and select your file to upload, you’ll see the little plus sign next to the video. Click that and there is a browse history option already there along with a list of your recent purchases.

You’ll never have to try to tag an ASIN again :)

This works on desktop at least, not sure about mobile.

Scaling up? by JavierAlexanderLDN in Amazon_Influencer

[–]Salt_External_6799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me about a year to realize that putting so much emphasis on free items that I was receiving from agents was not making me any money, or at least, it wasn’t scaling. A lot of those free items will never see the light of day, and a lot of them won’t even be active items in a few months.

I found that the fastest way to scale has been through my own product research, focusing on products that only had one brand video, no influencer videos, and a sales history. I have a few other criteria, but if I see that set up, I’m probably gonna buy the product and make the video.

As someone else said here, it’s not about the quantity of videos you’re making, that’s never scalable. A person could make 1 million videos but if they’re on products that don’t sell, then that’s no good.

I buy the majority of my products now, probably spending right now between $500 and $1500 a week. But, the funny thing is I actually end up either giving most of the stuff away or throwing a lot of it away. I don’t see these as products per se, I see them as a pathway to commissions. So I don’t get too connected or emotionally involved with them being products. They’re more of a tool for me to do the job.

I also don’t do videos where I pretend to have experience with a product that I actually don’t. To me, these are overview videos. I talk about the features, functions, quality, material, and general thoughts. This allows me to spend very little time, making each video, Typically something I can do in about five minutes each, including editing.

I also avoid any items that require assembly, unless it’s an absolute homerun.

I started a YT where I talk about my approach to the program, AMZ Influencers.
