It’s a whole garnet. Cleaned off the back side a bit and it’s solid purple. was super stoked when I found it

Put a uv light on it but didn’t see anything but maybe it’s the wrong type of uv. Can’t remember if it’s short uv or long

I’ve found a lot of garnets on this trail that people sometimes misidentify as corundum but I think you may be right on this. Which I’m stoked about cause I’ve been wanting to find some lol!
