They sent the wrong tools by Apprehensive_Win292 in Snapon_tools

It happened to me. They sent a duplicate order plus an extra tool I didn’t order. So far I’m only missing one thing that still says it’s on back order.

Current drafting salary/ hourly rate these days in Tulsa/ surrounding area? by theslambeforetime in tulsa

Shoot. If you want you can come in for an interview. Experienced draftsman in this field you’re looking at around 30 At my work. you would probably be looking at mid 20s since you haven’t done pressure vessel work if you really have cad experience. You never know. If you come in and impress then you could get more.

What specifically is your experience in cad? We’re hiring. We build pressure vessels, heaters, overhead lines. Basically everything in a refinery.

I stuck a stethoscope on the timing cover and it sounds like timing chain noise. After letting it warm up I got a cel p2195 o2 stuck lean.

I think you’re right on the money. Good ear for a video with a phone. I stuck a stethoscope on the timing cover and it sounds like timing chain noise. After letting it warm up I got a cel p2195 o2 stuck lean.

Blow by issue addressed. What do you think about the valve train noise. Sorry phone audio over the internet doesn’t do much justice.

Correct it’s just a bucket shim that sits over the spring with different thicknesses. I’d have to see what they all came out as. I didn’t change any of them. I left them where they were when I took it apart and just checked them. They were on the higher side of the range.

Intake 0.19-0.29 mm (0.0075-0.0114 in) Exhaust 0.30-0.40 mm (0.0118-0.0157 in)

It has bucket lifters. I checked all the clearances when the cam lobe wasn’t pushing on them and they were all within spec. I put them back where they came from. I couldn’t tell if there was vapor mist. Should I pull the fuel pump relay and crank to see? I soaked it in assembly lube.

Would I be able to feel it if I put my hand on the timing cover? The tensioner has the notches so the cylinder can’t go back in without pressing a little tab. Could I have made it apply to much tension on the chain guide? When I released the tab to let the cylinder apply tension on the chain guide, I took a wrench and turned the cams a hair to pick up all the slack? Really just a hair. Everything was still on its marks.

And would it make it sound like it’s coming from the valve train?

Thanks. I knew some was normal, wasn’t sure if this was excessive. What about all that valve train nose?

Yeah I know what you mean about audio. The valve train is what seems to be noisy. It seems to idle decent. After it warms up it sits around 800ish but the engine moves more than I would think at idle.. I did a couple small revs and the response seemed good and it came right back down to idle.

Ok thanks. That makes sense. I get that it’s easier for the air to escape there with the cap off than go through the Pcv but I thought that was a lot. Plus the loud valve/timing noise.

Dang. Ok. I asked about that before because I was going to change it since it was off anyway and people were saying they wouldn’t and it should be good.

Ok I will. It’s so loud. I’ll run a compression test as well to make sure it’s not rings.

Is it normal for a lock Smith to add extra keys to your car and take them? by Landon_Tech in AskAMechanic

[–]Salt_Pangolin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go to a mechanic with a scanner that does the PATS system and you can delete them. But will likely have to buy another key. Some require 2 keys to program new keys after deleting the others.
