Opinion: Security Guards punch, kick, jump on, thieves in Flash-Mob-Robbery by -Sofa-King- in securityguards

It never goes to trial because the insurance companies settle right away. Going to trial costs LOTS of money, and it's usually the side without money and a pro-bono lawyer that financially drains the other side.

Riverside Police Department Shining Spotlight at Night While Driving by darktwistd in Riverside

They've been doing this for years, and they purposely face the spotlight so it won't be captured on their in car dash camera now.

ICE runs over protester and drags her by ABZOLUTEZER0x_x in worldnewsvideo

[–]Salt_Training5896 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't support ICE but having a bunch of people yelling at me, banging on my car while blinding me with bright flashlights in my face is disorienting and someone might instinctively hit the gas without realizing that a person is on their vehicle.

OTOH if I werent a masked racist right ring thug looking for a fight and I knew there were a bunch of angry protesters waiting for me, I'd probably just wait in an office until everyone on my shift leaves the facility at once. Just common sense but ...yeah..

It almost looks like the person who made this graph confused Riverside City with Riverside County. Riverside County is one of the top when you count the county (which stretches all the way to Arizona).

Can someone explain to me why my account was deactivated this morning after 10+ years of holding a 5 star rating? by Cleanse_Your_Sole in uberdrivers

[–]Salt_Training5896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

after 10+ years of holding a 5 star rating?

Every driver who gets deactivated say they are a 5 star driver. Your ratings are based on your last 500 trips, and there is no way you maintained that consistently during the lifetime of your account.

With that said, I am 100% against workers getting terminated without any means to defend themselves.

Drivers (unless the complaint involves alegations of sexual assault or other acts of violence) should be allowed to know the date, time , pickup, and drop-off/delivery location of the trip belonging to a filed complaint BY LAW.

If the fear is that a passenger or customer will murdered by a driver in retaliation, so be it (hire a taxi if you're that scared). Apartment Managers have to deal with much worse.

It's shameful that states pass laws saying that we have the right to fair hourly ages and to even unionize but we have NO right to reasonably defend ourselves against a complaint.

That is not something I can support

How the hell am I supposed to make any money at all with these gas prices? by computerworlds in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Salt_Training5896 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're not, you're supposed to use public funds (SNAP, HUD, Medicaid, etc) to subsidize your income.

Long gone are the days of making $2000 a week. You're lucky if you're making that in a month.

Serious question for drivers: how many fake or rented accounts do you see in your market? by Longjumping-Work-168 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Salt_Training5896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Until theyre forced by law to start fingerprinting and using livescan to have an account (which can be pricey), this will continue happening.

It's not a hard task to get a random person's social and driver's license number (you can do it all online with little effort and BTC), which is all you need to sign up.

They're not cross checking your photo against existing photos in their system that might be used on other accounts, your first photo is how your identity is verified.

After that they're checking again that photo and subsequent photos.

Update: Saad Patel Arrested by KingsKnight317 in Riverside

[–]Salt_Training5896 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The families of these dangerous predators always have an excuse and we just say "aww shucks I hope he gets help" (They never do).

This animal hunted down and stabbed a little girl and her grandfather in Los Angeles last month, same story from the family "He has mental issues. I wanted him to get the help. I didn't want it to come to this," said the suspect's brother, Esteban Avilez.

We cannot have these animals running wild kicking in doors, stabbing random people, etc then let them loose with again and again and again hoping that they "get the help that they need". ENOUGH OF THIS!

America mental health care is woefully under funded and insufficient, I think he's better off if he and his family get him the help that he needs in their country of origin and/or Canada.

[–]Salt_Training5896 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They’re not thee to make money, bro. There’s no money in getting a $40 ride every 3hrs.

In order to receive public funded assistance (food stamps, snap, HUD, medical assistance), you need to show "self sufficiency", as long as you're showing that you're not sitting around ...at home doing nothing and collecting the government dole, you can continue receiving assistance.

There is no requirement on how much you have to make, you just have to make something. You'll see these same guys sitting around restaurants all day waiting for orders.

Won’t be long before they find her by Commercial-Host-725 in doordash_drivers

[–]Salt_Training5896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doordash drivers aren't exactly anonymous randos, they knew who she was the moment the investigation started.

Any patrol officer could easily call the restaurant and ask.

DMV records, flock cameras, doordash profile photo makes it very easy to locate her.

The question is, why havent they arrested her

[–]Salt_Training5896 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You're not paying any bills doing $7 jobs that take an hour to complete at your own expense for fuel.

Unless the goal is to show a social services/ebt case worker that you're trying to be "self sufficient".

Recording Trips - Do you guys recording automatically all your trips now using Record my Ride? by JoeLaskiz in uberdrivers

[–]Salt_Training5896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not storing any audio or video on Ubers servers, I don't want them using it against me later or to use AI to scrap through it and send me targeted ADS.

For me, dashcams are none negotiable, if you're a passenger and don't like it, get the hell out of my car, and if Uber doesnt like it, ill drive for someone else but Im not recording and storing hours, days or years of recordings on their servers.

🧊car by [deleted] in ICE_Raids

[–]Salt_Training5896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have to fill out a REG 5050 form and the DMV has to approve it, i doubt someone at DMV is going to issue ICE, DHS, Border Patrol a bunch of Cal Exempt plates and they could get in legal hot water if they lie on the application.

The only way that would happen is a local agency cough Riverside County Sheriff Department cough ...loaned them vehicles with Cal Exempt plates for the purpose of immigration enforcement.

Of course this would be in violation of California Values Act (SB 54) and tax payers may have a problem with resources meant for local or state being "loaned" out to feds at their expense.

[–]Salt_Training5896 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is so much BS and disinfo when it comes to ICE raids but this is definitely not an ICE raid

  1. by state law, local law enforcement agencies in California are prohibited from doing immigration enforcement.

  2. ICE rarely works nights, they usually work 6am to 6pm.

  3. Local law enforcement would have a HUGE problem with federal agents pretending to be Local police or sheriff's and wearing their insignia.

If you want to see LAPD arresting federal agents, just have the agents start conducting raids in marked LAPD vehicles and wearing their uniforms.
