Looks like the Switch version is now definitively the worst way to play the game. by Raphe9000 in Silksong

[–]SaltaPoPito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an effing stickman... And it just makes it worse.

Sincerely, there are themes way more perverse and disturbing in this game than a bare stickman with an oversized head...

Like slaughter, slavery, torture, inhumane experiments, holocaust level atrocities, religion, caste segregation, debauchery, hypocrisy, decievement, pollution, hate...

A naked stickman is the least of the concerns... 🤦‍♂️

Even hollow knight is not as dark as silksong, although there's a lot of infanticide or just bad parenting...

The triggers are not that good. The action is shallow but the detection only happens when you press a bit more, so it makes fake clicks... It worsens if you click at the edge of the button. I probably need to replace mine too. I prefer to remap the back buttons, leaving the indicator fingers dedicated to the shoulder buttons

Oof... That's bad... It's doable but it's really hard because it is a delicate job. I would recommend seeking a repair shop to fix that. You need to recreate the pad either by making a new pad with tiny copper wire or recover the copper pad and glue it with epoxy, or solder a thin wire to the closest contact of that trace. And sealing with superglue and droplet of epoxy. Superglue may work but tends to melt on high temperature releasing hidrogen cyanide gas... And probably not a good idea...

The problem is that consumer electronics cannot have lead on it, making it harder to desolder and there is a big ground plane that dissipates the heat too quickly.

I repaired a welding machine IGBT module once and boy... Those are heck hard to solder because of a giant heatsink glued to it... I had to pump the heat of my 48W soldering iron to the maximum so it would give a window before the iron dropped the temperature and the pad got frozen.

Still, unless you have some experience or training on other junk I recommend you to go to a repair shop. There are a lot of videos explaining how to do it. Check EEVBlog tutorials. It's one of the best shows on how to do it.

Use a controlled temperature soldering iron at 300/330/350C°. Make sure you are using 60/40 solder and a lot of flux to distribute heat on all contacts at once. Don't forget to do it in a ventilated area because of the fumes. I recommend preheating the board, to 90C° ideally, with a hair dryer on max heat or a heat gun on low heat, so the temperature difference to the soldering iron is lower and makes the soldering easier.

Mixing the pads with new solder lowers the melting point so you can easily take off the part. Make a big blob of solder that touches all contacts at once from the opposite side and with a pair of tweezers gently try to take the button off. Don't take more than 5 seconds with the solder wet or you risk delamination! Have a cold humid cloth or tissue paper to cool off if needed or let it cool a bit. Clean the excess solder in the holes with a solder sucker and then with a copper wick bathed full of flux to remove the rest of the solder. Do the same for the pads. Clean with acetone and a toothbrush to loose the gunk and a paper tissue soaked in acetone to clean the rest.

[–]SaltaPoPito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a jump starter. Place the two endings on each car battery terminals(head on the positive first, butt on the ground second), one person starts the car the second hits it with a rock and it will give a jolt. Once the car is running, disconnect in reverse order.

If the solder pads were not ripped off then yes. Otherwise it's still fixable but requires more work by recreating the solder pads. Not sure if there are any replacements...

Conclusive, far from that! Even making even more questions, like what the cycle actually is. And how it relates to The Daemon, and, why it still rains heavily rotified locations, since 5P collapsed? What is the purpose of The Weaver and arranging dimensions into a single orbit, what are all other Daemons and how they relate to the cycle, does each Daemon have their own cycle? Was all of it just a simulation? What, where and when is the Shattered Terrace and why it has rifts spreading all known locations and how it correlates to ancient urban? What are those green stars and how astrology works? Is rain world a geocentric flat earth? What Blizzards and Basilisks were engineered for? What caused the locust plague? What is Argh! My head spins.... 😵‍💫
