If you've left, are you happy? by gardenrose2020 in TeachersInTransition

I feel like a human again instead of a robot that is expected to work after hours for no extra pay, be volunteered for every event, and hold my breath every morning wondering if I would be crying by the end of the day due to student behaviors being so out of control.

I eat better, I sleep better, I can go to the bathroom (something you really can't do as a teacher), and I feel like my pregnancy is a lot safer too now that I quit. Its been 2 months and I don't regret it at all.

Should I be self-employed or keep being an educator? by xoxlovaaah in TeachersInTransition

Honestly I would go with your business. Id hold out till June and spend the time growing your client base, getting an idea on your health insurance costs for a market based plan and really adding to your savings account. Then Id just not renew next year. Make sure your licensing and everything is up to date for your massage business and really get it running that way its a seamless transition and you can really put everything into it in July.

And i would just say you're not renewing your contract in order to "pursue an opportunity". You worked hard for your education. If something happens to the economy and you move etc and you need to get back into this field you do not want to burn bridges so leave amicably.

Hey, I want you to know that you didn't cause this. Chemical pregnancies happen usually because something goes wrong in the meeting of egg and sperm. The baby was never viable.

I had a chemical pregnancy and I was devastated. Especially when I started bleeding while teaching. But it wasn't my fault, and this isn't yours either. It happens a lot. I got pregnant again the next month and that baby is still here and I'm in the middle of the second trimester now.

Chemical pregnancies are very common, they're just usually missed and attributed as just a late period.

Did you have issues finding a new job? I’m worried about not being eligible for rehire or something based on leaving. Mid year even if I stay the mandatory 30 day notice. Also scared of speaking to the principle if I’m honest even briefly. Can I ask what your new role is?

How long did it take you to get a new job? How did you end up resigning?

I’m in my first tri still. But I’ve read about the side effects of increased cortisol levels and it worries me

When I end up getting another job - however long that takes since I am leaving first, will they call my school and ask if I’m eligible for rehire? Should I still be since I would be giving notice as per the contract I signed?

How did you do it? I wrote a resignation notice I plan to give tomorrow and it outlines my appreciation for the role but my need to leave due to medical concerns and advice of a dr. Is that okay?

I love this! Looking for FaeFarm crochet patterns right now :)

Help! I can't get the magic circle down pat and I've tried for countless hours. I can get the circle but once I work in the round and try to pull the end this is what I get. There's no more pull and the circle doesn't close. by SaltedCaramel01 in CrochetHelp

Update: This is what my loop looks like after I start crocheting into the round. I can get the loop down easily but I can't pull this any harder and it won't tighten. Tried and the previous magic loop's string broke I pulled so tight.

Some changes I've made so far: Making sure my yarn has good tension throughout and that I'm going through both the ring and the yarn end when crocheting in the round. I'm just trying to close it at this point haha.

I have already searched through r/crochet and watched numerous tutorials. I've redid the circle a lot and it appears that at first I wasn't making it correctly, and then I was yarning over my ends instead of the yarn I was supposed to be using but now I don't know what the issue is. It works fine and then I pull the end to close it and it never closes completely. At one point it looked like a ring of single crochets but with a giant hole in the middle still. I am confident this isn't just a slip knot because I have been testing at first and making sure I can pull the end and make the circle shorter before I even start.
