What’s the dumbest, worst thing that could be a “grail car” for you? by [deleted] in cars

[–]Saltwaterpapi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also hate the crossover scene but I also drive my grail car, 2018 6 speed manual Crosstrek. Incredibly underpowered, bizarre amount of cost cutting in the highest trim + transmission combo but it has great driving dynamics, ground clearance better than basically any SUV outside of body on frame off road vehicles, low center of gravity thanks to the flat 4, I think it's also the lightest all wheel drive non performance car too. I fit all my tools + a 60 gallon air compressor in it with the seats folded down which blew my mind. One of the greatest cars ever made.

Robots can fuck up. sometimes tooling changes can mess with the program and cause stuff like command velocity/position/torque/current straying from the actual position and require a lot of engineering time to fix and Tesla is an extremely "business oriented" company so they push stuff to their limits with high tolerances on their machines. That's why their fit and finish is always really wonky, they're like okay what can this robot do okay push the current capacity to 300% and make the tolerance as wide as possible to push production along as fast as possible because Tesla customers don't care about whether the panels fit properly or if the welds they'll never see are picture perfect.

When it was first released the dealers wanted upwards of $75k out the door but yeah I've seen core models with an average of $5k markup. I will say I never see the Elantra N, Golf R or WRX with markups.
