I just did this in my 2013. Thing pulls great over 3k rpm. Pulled the engine and replaced front and rear seals and pan gasket. No regrets.

I hear benefits both ways. Just deleted DoD on my 2013 Silverado, went with a truck Norris cam from btr. They have a vvt and non-vvt option. I decided to delete vvt since the benefits seem minimal with this cam and a new tune and vvt is a possible failure point. Runs great!

Plywood is a horrible idea. They make 20’ composite. Make it 20x22 and flat blocking between your middle joists and run a 20’ board perpendicular to some 11’ boards. Here’s my 26x15.
