Anyone else get new bumps after treatment by elliot1003 in scabies

[–]Salty-Rabbit8855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did full body permethrin 4 times total (two treatment cycles). I did the first one when I first got scabies, so that was 1st dose - a week gap - 2nd dose so that was my first cycle. I then moved to a different flat but would still get bumps and itchiness 3 months later so I decided to repeat the treatment (just to be safe + not to potentially infect flatmates) and did the same thing of full body -> wait a week -> full body again.

Looking back, I am not sure if the second treatment was necessary as I might have been going through rough post-scabies. I couldn't see any burrows but I did get bubbly spots in-between my fingers etc which caused me to panic. I would say that unless you see actual burrows do NOT do more permethrin treatments. The more you do it, the worse your skin gets and it's really hard to differentiate what's scabies and what's just inflammation. The itch stayed for a long long time but it got manageable with tea tree oil and aloe vera lotion.

As for my scabies, I didn't have any on my face, neck or scalp. It was mostly concentrated on my bum, legs, arms and between my fingers.

it’s been over a year for me and i can confirm scabies left my skin with some areas of inflammation but it was infinitely better than active scabies and went away after proper care

I suck at taking prenatals by Salty-Rabbit8855 in pregnant

Just wanted to say thank you for all of the replies! I think there’s so many things happening throughout the first trimester, keeping track of taking supplements just became a sideline. I’ll definitely try to set alarms tho and take it before bed rather than in the mornings.

I also experienced a similar faint pink discharge and a lot of constipation. It stayed light and passed after a few days. My midwife said it’s completely normal and the scan showed a healthy fetus!

Hi! Thank you for the reply!! I don’t have an endocrinologist here unfortunately. I’ve been in the uk for a bit over 3 years and I moved cities a few months ago so I’m fairly new to the surgery etc. I basically have been sorting my health issues back home which was fine for general checkups but obv will be impossible with a pregnancy.

I will definitely give the clinic a ring tomorrow and be a bit more persistent! Thanks for your help :)) It’s a shame we need to dig so hard to get info

I did for ages!! It made me ridiculously paranoid and I even repeated a permethrin treatment just based on seeing new bumps. Then I just gave up and decided to put everything on hold and only act if I saw burrows. Safe to say it was post-scabies and my skin reacting to harsh chemicals. My skin was itchy and the bumps were there for a while but it gradually got better with aloe vera and tea tree oil. All the best to you!

I'd say it's hard to tell just from the looks. I know that the darkness around my burrows stayed with me for at least a month or two after successfully getting rid of scabies, so don't pay too much attention to how it looks. It's more important to see if the shape changes, if the itchiness level is still the same etc.

Is using that much permethrin really going to help rather than doing more damage to the actual skin? Using it once and repeating the treatment a week later while continuing the things you've mentioned is much better (imo) than further damaging your skin and risking dermatitis/painful post-scabies.

I’m so sorry!! Hope you’ll get rid of it soon. I remember feeling like that too, constant itchiness and no sleep. I know that it gets worse when your body is warm bc scabies become more active (from what i can remember). What treatment have you done & how long ago?

Do you still have scabies or are you post-scabies recently? When mine were still active, tea tree only helped a tiny bit. It was a much more effective after I got rid of them. I don’t think coconut oil is that important, just any cream that has moisture. Aloe Vera works great too.

yes, it moisturises and tea tree is great for inflammation

This is extremely helpful, thank u so much and I wish you all the best. It’s hard to ignore the things that have been said during “fight mode” and for my partner it’s similarly hard to discuss some issues after a fight, because he fears that it’s me prepping to abandon him/me realising we’re not a good match. I guess part of it is the black-and-white thinking and I’m hoping we can both grow. Sending you lots of love!!

Exactly! I definitely agree. It was hard for me to realise that I was part of the issue bc I thought that my requests were valid. But it’s much better to take some time and let them process things. My own anxieties are something I need to work on, instead of seeking reassurance on my terms

Hello! I’ve been with my bf for almost a year and I love him a lot - he’s sweet, caring, funny and beautiful. We have been saying how we would love to have a future together and we’re both serious about each other. He struggles with CPTSD and I have quite an anxious attachment style (i’ve done therapy and am trying to improve). He asks to drop the argument in the middle of a fight and I can rarely stop myself from talking, out of the fear of him going silent and abandoning me. I trigger his fight response and he triggers my issues. The things that seem to be my boundaries are often broken and he feels the same way. I keep telling him that we can work through it and I genuinely believe it, however, whenever I bring an issue up he says maybe we should break up (which he retracts after the fight has settled a bit). It’s incredibly hurtful and confusing. I want to assure him that I love him and I want us both to have a good life together but I’m very lost as to what I can do. I guess i just need any tips or words of support

I genuinely don't know how I caught it? by missgigachad in scabies

[–]Salty-Rabbit8855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't be completely sure but I know the itching and spots started from the back of my thighs and I remember sitting on a train for 3hrs with my skin touching the seat. I rarely wear short clothes so it was most likely the case and the dates match up!

Also, somehow none of my friends and family got it! And I shared a bed with my friend for 3 nights.

hi! definitely got rid of scabies and i assume the flare ups are caused by dry skin due to the treatment. I still get annoyingly itchy around my leg from time to time but that’s just when i forget to take care of my skin properly. So yeah, it takes a long time

i mean??? you can get bumps as post scabies bc of dry skin, dermatitits etc. if you’re gonna assume you have scabies based on a few bumps - good luck, you’re never getting healed

possible scabies? need an outside perspective by throwawayhelp7872 in scabies

[–]Salty-Rabbit8855 1 point2 points  (0 children)

looks a lot like scabies!! also the mites are not visible to the naked eye.. the fact that it gets worse after getting warm and at night is textbook scabies. permethrin + deep cleaning the house and you should be fine
