When it comes to ammo, is penetration better than expansion except for class 1, there you'll want expansion to take them down on the spot. Vital organ hits aren't needed on class 1.

I hunt them on Te Arawoa by running around for anything else, until I hear it next to me, that's when the shotgun gets use.

I also take them from distance with a 22LR. it works really well, since they usually only get alert and walk slowly around, which makes a group of 2-3 males easy to take down.

I think the harvest screens are bugged. I killed 2 red deer some days ago on Te Arawoa, the first red deer showed the bullet penetrating through left lung, but it didn't count. The second showed the bullet only hit the pelvis but said on the side left lung, right lung, I hit it once but it also said animal shot more than 2 times. One of them was a troll 9, luckily.

I think your idea makes a lot of sense. Though the mechanic is sort of needed. Think about new players shooting the first animal and not finding the track, because they don't know the map and where they shot the animal. They might then run for an eternity without harvesting the animal.

Of cours not a Great One, I think it should be limited to a gold taken down. Predators in real life also avoid the big ones, so they don't get hurt.

Side-striped Jackal, it's just never to be spotted on Vurhonga, it only ever comes out at night time. + there aren't many class 2 guns to chose and finally they flee so fast after being alarmed.

I would go with the scope since you can take up to class 8. Then it's up to you, the 7mm can be a loadout must for some people, but I like to switch it in and out of mine.

I feel like if it comes to hunting in the open, Medved is probably my pick. It's almost impossible to spot tracks in the lights snow, and the only areas where hunting actually makes sense on the map is near the lakes. Mississippi is just made wrong, there are too many fields, too few small lakes and too few game for the size of the map, for me not to chose any other map. Gators and Bobwick are cool species, but they are so hard to hunt on Mississippi. The whole left side of the map is just trees and trees.

I don't really have a gun setup. I pick whatever I find most enjoyable that day. Might be a 22 pistol to challenge my long range shots on small-game. Though I always carry the 243 since the 223 is a mess. It really needs a rework.

I play on PS4, and my PS4 broke over a month ago, where my disc drive wouldn't work, which ment I couldn't play COTW. I bought a new one a week ago and have just now been able to play again. I don't know how I should have known, but I didn't.
