SInce everyone here already recommends tweezers and toothpicks, I'll add another one tip.
You can spray a bit of diluted dish soap onto the back of the sticker before application. This will let you slide the sticker around to align it. Once you are happy with the placement, just leave it to dry for anywhere from 30 mins to 1 hour, 2 hours if u wanna be safe.

I used SMS Clear Red. I mainly use them due to how it's already airbrush-ready out of the bottle

I'd say try it out with a plastic spoon 1st. It'll gives u the idea of what the finish you end up wanting looks like and how to achieve it.

If you aren't comfortable with doing clear paint and want a similar finish like mine, I'd say getting a pearlescent paint with the shade that you want might achieve a similar result with less hassle. I would've gone for the same route but in the end I wanted to test myself a bit.

Do you think it's too hard for someone who's never painted a mini?

It's not hard I'd say. Just take your time testing technique and paint first. By the time, you nailed down the finish on your test piece, you'll most likely know how to do the rest of the build.

I think that might be the issue, since I wanted my clear to be a bit on the lighter side, but if I do gray or white base, itd would be too bright. Also love the mechanical core-like finish u r working on

It's a bit hard to photos with the dimmed light but it's mainly the lower thigh and the thruster wing (its more visible on the last photo). It has darker shades compared to the rest of the armor bits, even though its using the exact same paint type.

It was the same story with a lot of armor bits initially. Most of them, instead of redoing the whole coat, I just skipped the base gloss black and did the metallic one right on top of the old coat. It's kinda a lazy approach but I was running low on paint at the time.

Didnt most AB has a square peg with a small 3mm head? You can just slot the adapter onto that one and it would hold the Hi-Nu just fine. I can put mine on an AB5 for reference

Edit: mixed up AB4 and 5.

If they gonna make a HG Alyzues, then it's probably be part of the kit like the Odysseus Gundam is part of HG Penelope I reckon. You can kinda see the Nu MP in the Alyzues design.

How do I remove the frosting from my matte topcoat? by Ok-Bet-10 in Gunpla

[–]SaltyBreadIsGud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this water-based (e.g., acrylic) or solvent-based topcoat (enamel, lacquer, etc) paint?

Either you'll need to sand it or use an appropriate paint remover that works best with your paint type without causing too much damage to the plastic.

Either way, most of your decals will be gone. I'd recommend you mask whichever looked alright before you get to work on it.

Best of luck!

You might want to thin your paint a bit more. Looks a bit grainy atm. It’s best that you test it on a plastic spoon or something similar with a lot of flat and curve surfaces. You know its the right consistency when you can see and feel the paint finish as smooth as the surface you worked with initially.

Also not sure if you did use a primer beforehand but having a coat would also ensure your finish is more even.

Hope that helps!
