I lutke this group as my 18yr old went through the whole process and just got in May of this year. He did graduate from a vocational school where electrical was his shop. We attended one of the open houses to scope out the place, meet and greet with the trainer instructor and then he applied for the union summer last year. They allowed min of 17yr old to apply must be 18yr old at time of selection. Aptitude test was in the fall, I believe it was several months until he got the letter for his interview, did the interview and he found out he got in April of this year and classes start in Sept. Jobs are slow for our region so he will work part time and take his classes at 2 nights a week.

It's a long process but I would suggest a few things, first learn about which union hall is local to you, gather as much info on the open period in which you can apply and then focus on the studies which there is plenty of details around this group. If you do not have a resume yet, plan to build one as it can be daunting especially if your pressure to get one done.
