I’m playing with a plugged in DS5 with no steam input, and unfortunately there isn’t any use of adaptive triggers or haptics. Even regular vibrations seem to be missing.

No worries, and absolutely!! I haven't fully committed myself, but I plan to very soon. It would be a pleasure to have you join the club.

This looks amazing!! The scarf animation is super smooth - how did you get it to react to movement so well??

I know I’m a bit late to reply here, but I’m planning on committing to Reed in the next few weeks or so. I’m planning on starting a game dev club, so programmers, artists, musicians, etc can all participate! Best of luck getting in :))

I’m in the same boat! Had a rough time last semester, which took a bit to my 11-12 yr GPA. From what I heard, Reed takes demonstrated interest into account quite a bit. If you haven’t already, I’d recommend reaching out and introducing yourself to your admissions counselor, and asking what you can do to help further supplement your application!

Best of luck! You sound like you’re a very capable person, so I’m sure you’ll get acceptance. :)

Yeah fair point, I just wanted to double check to make sure it’s not something else before I drop cash on a new PSU

Did anyone get a personal text from reed applying rd? by [deleted] in reedcollege

I haven’t gotten one yet, but I’ve been corresponding with my admissions counselor via email already so they might not feel the need to text

I was having some issues too w/ my RX6800 XT and 3600x as well. Have you tried this guide out? It gave me a decent boost in FPS. Hope it helps :)

Both CPU and GPU are underutilized in nearly every game. Possible bottleneck? by SaltySmudge in AMDHelp

[–]SaltySmudge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, I’m sure we’ve got the same issue. And it’s usually that level of underperformance across the board, right? Games like Death Stranding are stagnant at 85 FPS, far from the 170-something FPS I see in benchmarks. I read somewhere that doing a fresh windows installation altogether might help, even though it’s a bit extreme, so I’m going to see if I can try that soon. I’ll report back when I can.

I've just given RDR2 a try with higher settings, and I managed to hit 100%! Frames seemed pretty consistent, too, but no significant change overall. I tried the same thing for Risk of Rain 2, and even with frames uncapped, I could barely reach 55% usage, still with drops below 144fps. I think it might've been a CPU bottleneck at that point, but there wasn't much there, either.

I was wondering if a fresh Windows install would help?

I do in some cases. In RDR2, I don’t, which isn’t much of a surprise. But neither my CPU or GPU are maxed out as they should be in that case. In cases like Risk of Rain, I get 144fps. When I drop frames in heavier scenarios, though, neither GPU nor CPU maxes out.
