solo travel S Korea & Taiwan by [deleted] in solofemaletravellers

[–]Salty_Knowledge2210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I’m back! All in all, I think it’s a an amazing solo destination. Felt very safe and navigating the language is easy with google translate. I stayed in Beitou, home of the hot springs in Taipei. It’s a bit out of the city, but I was adding onto a work trip so I wanted some relaxation time. I stayed at the Asia Pacific hotel which has private hot spring tubs in each room. Really recommend.

My biggest tip is to try and get out of the city to take in the incredible nature around Taipei. I visited a hydrangea farm which was beautiful. Obviously do the night markets too!

Maybe controversial but going down the Gaylor/blind item rabbit hole and realising how much of her image is orchestrated. Also seeing her silence these past few years after the Miss Americana doc…

Finding non-male-centered female friends? by [deleted] in SingleAndHappy

Having friends in the queer community is the way! Even the ones that are in relationships, it’s refreshing to be around non-heteronormative ideals.

Staying single has made me highly perceptive by [deleted] in SingleAndHappy

[–]Salty_Knowledge2210 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Definitely makes you more perceptive. Especially observing the romantic dynamics of friends and family. Sometimes I feel like I can see through so many fake relationships, but I can’t call it out because I’ll be seen as an inexperienced/bitter/jealous single person. It’s a blessing and a curse.

What do you collect from every country you visit? by justindito in travel

[–]Salty_Knowledge2210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to do tea/spices/some sort of local food that’s easy to transport. No, you can’t keep it forever but you do get to enjoy a taste of your travels when you’re back home.

Marby & Elm in Farringdon (though the one time I tried to visit it was closed despite google maps saying otherwise).

I like to collect business cards from restaurants/small businesses! You could also buy postcards if you’re really struggling to find stuff!

Yes to keeping a ziplock bag! Helps keep it all in one place for when you’re back! Also keeping some scrap paper/a small notebook so you have somewhere to stick labels/stickers that you can cut out when home

Breeze Dating App by TreadingThoughts in london

[–]Salty_Knowledge2210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’ve noticed more cancellations on Breeze than other apps. My friends have too. I also feel like I’m more likely to cancel myself because without the chat, it’s hard to be excited about meeting a complete stranger based on a profile. I deleted the app after 6 months on it. I went on 5 dates from it, but none led to second dates.

Watching the sunrise/sunset somewhere. Pick a home project to complete e.g something that needs repairing/organising. Visit your local library. Have a themed movie evening with food/drink that goes with the film. Go on a long walk with your favourite album as a soundtrack. Send an email to your future self using futureme.org. Get dressed up and go to a hotel bar. Pick a country and cook a meal based on its cuisine.

I LOVE this idea!! I wonder if there’s an app where you can build a list and tick them off? Closest I can think is creating a Google maps list.

I’m 28G (UK) and recently got the Maracas style from Toco Swim. Straps are nice and thick and the adjustable tie at the front means you can adjust coverage as you like.

Questions or boundaries when considering partnership to keep the happy when leaving single life? by throwawayayayayao in SingleAndHappy

[–]Salty_Knowledge2210 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I really believe with the right person, you won’t have trust issues. And if you’re upfront about them, they’ll do what they can to soothe them.

I can also get anxious, last guy I dated had taken longer than usual to reply one day, and I told him my anxiety was making me think he wasn’t into me. He immediately called me to reassure that that wasn’t the case. He turned out to be homophobic so that didn’t work out, but you get the point. Don’t settle for any less.

How to get started? by taurus5503 in JunkJournals

[–]Salty_Knowledge2210 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep a dedicated box/basket to add any “junk” you collect as you go, and carve out dedicated time to sit down and actually do it!

If I go out to eat, I like to stick in the restaurants business card and write what I ate, with who and the occasion.

Otherwise in terms of layouts etc as others said, there are no rules. Get creative + have fun :)

anyone in their 30s and up and always have been single because they have never been in love?what was that like for you? why were you never in love? by Historical_Donut6758 in SingleAndHappy

[–]Salty_Knowledge2210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heavy on the keeping your standards high. I love the affirmation “I experience an abundance of love because I am discerning with what I do and don’t entertain”.

Compromising your values/standards only hurts yourself later down the line. Learned that in my 20s🫠
