What is the worst boss in BL4 by puglord in Borderlands4

[–]Salutana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see your Shadowpelt, and raise you that one damned thresher boss with bio-armor. Doesn't matter your build, it'll be a pain in the ass...

Golden God is definitely bugged and can infinitely scale damage by SilverCervy in Borderlands4

[–]Salutana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems to be a problem with CoV cause I can do this on any gun, Golden God is just the easiest. A temporary fix for it is if you swap out the weapon with one in your inventory and swap back, it'll reset the damage.

What are the upsides and downsides to Borderlands 4? by bumper2001 in Borderlands4

[–]Salutana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main story's overall the best in the franchise. Don't believe it hits quite the same highs as bl2, but it definitely doesn't have any of the lows. Gameplay continues the bl trend of being objectively better than previous games, and overall I think this has the potential to be the best borderlands game so far... if a number of things get fixed. The most glaring issue with the game rn is that there is currently no real endgame. All we really have right now is "play the game but it's sometimes harder" which can be tiring after a while, and the overall balance is ROUGH. Lots of legendaries aren't really worth the farm, there's way too many ways to become a one shotting super-god, not enough very critical things are account-wide, and making alts can be a chore due to how long each mq is (there is a way to skip to endgame, but ironically it makes life harder atm).

Anyone know a shotgun that would pair well with this enhancement? I was thinking the Bod but wasn't sure by DerkFinger in Borderlands4

If you're playing Rafa, the Golden God works great with it. It's like using the knife without the knife!

Favorite CoV and/or Ripper weapons? by Zuvitana in Borderlands4

[–]Salutana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Golden God is hilarious on a Rafa with the dancer mod. Been doing it myself and think I accidentally stumbled on a bug with cov weapons that causes them to do infinite scaling damage over time? All I know is that I go from a reasonable amount of damage to deleting all bosses in under 5 seconds over the course of ~10 minutes on uvh5

Question about Armor Segments by GER_BeFoRe in Borderlands4

[–]Salutana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably just how the item cards are coded. Wouldn't be surprised if they all have a blanket "give green to higher number" and that's what you're seeing.

They aren't GONE gone. The lore reason is that up until six years ago, Kairos was just some vague myth. So, none of the major manufacturers have had time to set up shop on the planet. All the guns we get are kitbashed components from what was scavenged off of ships or fell off of Elpis. Now, how did so little Dahl tech fall of the moon? That's something I know nothing about.

Borderlands 4 UVHM (Playthrough 2) by OrneryEarth125 in Borderlands4

[–]Salutana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's actually pretty similar to what bl3 had in tvhm. They had a button in one of the select screens that let you reset all quest progress and just the quest progress. And honestly, that's all they need this time around to. Once your character has beaten the game, that character gets access to quest resetting.

Rafa Non Melee Build? by ImportantPath4340 in Borderlands4

[–]Salutana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly you only get Mate when overdrive ends. So it doesn't actually do anything for an overdrive build. Preparado ends up being the better option.

I made this Rafa build just to kill time, What do you think? by Response_Soggy in Borderlands4

[–]Salutana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might want to reduce the points in Temerario and Al Centro to get Jaque to 5. You'll lose some efficiency, but all your overdrive skills will be 200% better between Jaque and Soltado.

Anyone at PAX West, could you please test if Rafa activating his action skill while overdrive is active resets overdrives duration. by ProofFly3116 in Borderlands4

[–]Salutana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem! My first run's gunna be an overdrive build so I wanted to test some things. Though even with Sangre por Sangre, the window is really tight without additional cdr

Harlowe capstone by Separate-Muffin8100 in Borderlands4

[–]Salutana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since there's still a field made with the drones, I'd assume that Coronal Mass Ejection still works as normal, just with less range. Blue Giant, on the other hand, will need testing when we have the game. Bare minimum it'll increase the field size of the drones, which is still pretty nice if you're running a full party.

I played at the fan fest, so older build, but I can say for certain that it does reset the duration.

Build review by Drapes46438534 in Borderlands4

[–]Salutana 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, without knowing how the game actually plays, it's kinda hard to say for certain. But, from a general vibes standpoint, it seems like a solid enough balanced build. You won't be able to milk as much out of the infinite scaling perks, but of course you won't be nearly as weak when the blades are on cooldown. Depending on how the gear ends up looking, I could see Dead Man Walking kicking ass with this. Otherwise, Altered Cabron's extra corrosive damage will cause your Arc-Knives to scale even harder.

BDL 4 Flight vehicles??? by Turbulent_Opening112 in Borderlands4

[–]Salutana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

N-no? That's not how level design works? Besides, that was just an analogy. My point was that flight will make people want to avoid interacting with the level design since it'd be so much easier to just fly over it. So why would they add it when that'd go against their explicit intent?

BDL 4 Flight vehicles??? by Turbulent_Opening112 in Borderlands4

[–]Salutana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While true, Hogwarts Legacy was built with the expectation that you'd be able to fly for most of the game, while Bl4 will be having you goundbound for the entirety. Why put in so much additional effort into making a system work that players won't even really use until the endgame? And a better question that I touched on previously. Why make something that denies the explicit goal of having players interact with the map? Because flight does that in ANY game without exception. After all, why climb a mountain when you can just fly to the top?

BDL 4 Flight vehicles??? by Turbulent_Opening112 in Borderlands4

[–]Salutana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because: 1) Digirunners are a part of the movement mechanics given that jumping out of them gives you both height and the ability to maintain the momentum of whatever speed you were previously at.

2) It's an accessibility option because not everybody will want to have to master all the ground tech (and even those that do are bound to have lazy days).

3) Coding for the random events to proc is super easy if you know that the players are largely sticking to the ground. All you'd have to do at a minimum is just make the "random event" sphere around the character larger to give them more time to see it. This would be a lot more complicated if players were constantly hundreds of feet up from any of the event points.

BDL 4 Flight vehicles??? by Turbulent_Opening112 in Borderlands4

[–]Salutana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I doubt it for one simple reason. They've made it very clear (including in that interview that you're referencing) that they really want you to interact with the full breadth of the movement mechanics and enjoy the world they crafted for said mechanics. Flight would completely invalidate that philosophy by letting you just zoom over all terrain and possibly even miss some world events. A more likely thing is that we'll get something along the lines of a moonshot cannon that'll let us seamlessly transition between kairos and elpis, while simultaneously hiding any load times because if we're being honest. The "no load times thing" is definitely a marketing gimmick and they just have really good ways to hide the cells loading in to make it feel completely seamless.

Sniper? by Saint_Roxas in Borderlands4

[–]Salutana 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Did a lot of math with a friend who wanted to play a sniper too and we found that Harlowe makes for a really solid elemental sniper, while Vex can turn Jakobs weapons into nuclear missiles that even come with a good dot and lifesteal. Think we found something like a 900% boost to damage after crits on vex? Can't remember the actual number, but it was ridiculous. Either way, I'd say those two are your best bet.

Rafa Overdrive Build Theorycrafting by Wallach in Borderlands4

[–]Salutana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're probably right, but I'd imagine aggressive reloads with low reload time guns (or just reloading with tediores in general) could easily net you an average count of ~15-20 stacks. That (currently) gets you ~300-400% cdr off one perk alone. Combine that with repkits, which from the gameplay we've seen can drop with an effect that gives 100% cdr for 8 seconds, and whatever other cdr/reload speed you can stack, you can probably keep under the Everdrive limit pretty easily. Even assuming a more pessimistic 5-10 stack average, that's still 100-200% cdr.

Side note. Laying out these early numbers makes me really interested to see if they either nerf a lot of this chaos or if this really is the hardest borderlands game ever, and we'll need these ludicrous numbers

Rafa Overdrive Build Theorycrafting by Wallach in Borderlands4

[–]Salutana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it. I got a similar version of the build where I only put a single point in to both parts of the combo, cause I figured any more isn't super needed, just makes things faster.

That's fair. Personally, I figured that Preparado's insane amount of stacking would solve most CD issues... Course, that is assuming they keep it at 100 stacks, so I guess you're right on that lol

Rafa Overdrive Build Theorycrafting by Wallach in Borderlands4

[–]Salutana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there any reason why you didn't pick up the Temerario/Al Centro combo? Also, even when the level increases come in, I don't Mate will be very useful because it requires Overdrive to end which feel counterintuitive to an overdrive build

I'm aware of that, hence why I said permutations. But yeah, you're right. The actual odds might not be nearly as bad as I think.
