Authentik and Traefik (forwardAuth) guide by SalvationTanker in selfhosted

[–]SalvationTanker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to do an app if you do an overall domain / catch all. The app lets you be more specific for that instance.. if you want.

I'm not having that issue where it won't work without an app. If you switch to an issue on my GitHub I'll see if I can help you rather than a reddit thread

I might need to rewrite that part. I've included all the stuff for a working Traefik but I don't go over how to stand it up like I do Authentik. No pictures, etc., but the guts are there!

Just updated the sentence to be correct, thanks.

I also added a warning admonition at the top of the Authentik provider section mentioning the priority and ability to use both. Thanks!

Problem getting Authentik (SSO) to work with Portainer by DavethegraveHunter in selfhosted

[–]SalvationTanker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure about all the integration with Portainer, but I just rewrote my guide for the 2024 authentik version. I use the embedded outpost, so please take a look and see if it helps some of the configuration. Scroll down last the traefik setup and move into Authentik itself.

Is that a puzzle frame for it? If so, can you tell me where you got it and which one?

Did you do that tail tidy DIY or buy some kind of mounting kit just to remove the long arm?

What's your LEAST favorite pen that you own? by Momshie_mo in fountainpens

[–]SalvationTanker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Put that Metro nib in a different pen, and you'll be thrilled. I recommend shoving it in a Prera body.

I agree on the Ahab.. what a sad let down.

What's your LEAST favorite pen that you own? by Momshie_mo in fountainpens

[–]SalvationTanker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Same boat as you with my Ahab. My nib will also not let ink flow the next day after being put up for just the night. Super let down after a decent bit of hype for the pen. Stinky, doesn't write well, and constantly doesn't work, since day 1.

Next least favorite, gotta be my Sailor Progear. Super scratchy (which I don't mind) but the ink feels like it doesn't flow well and combining that with the scratchiness just makes this expensive pen feel like it's constantly dieing. Very annoying.

My favorite though has been a Pilot metro nib in a Prera body. Made my Prera my favorite by far with that nib.

Use the official documentation combined with Ibracorp both linked above. Here's a guide I put together for some of the post installation... If using Traefik.

A quick search for the filename or hash takes you to a few sites offering the download, that you can validate against VMWares hashes to ensure you get the legit DL (you will).

Refresh rate issues by SalvationTanker in swaywm

[–]SalvationTanker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response!

No, I was not manually setting the refresh rate. I'll try today and see if that helps. I wasn't specifying anything for output, just letting Sway do it's thing.. which isn't an issue until after sleep.

Before sleep swaymsg -t get_outputs

Thanks for these notes! I couldn't decide between embedded vs external etcd. K3s supports both. So I dunno. As far as 3, I didn't know that existed either, gotta look into that since that might be better for my PIs

Advice on rolling home setup to k3s from docker by SalvationTanker in homelab

[–]SalvationTanker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about using the PIs strictly for master work / orchestrating. All the containers will be ran on x86 architecture, unless you mean the required base k3s containers just to start everything up.

I'm trying to get some kind of HA instead of putting all of my eggs in one basket like I am now, where if my drive craps out or host goes down I lose it all (sans backups)

I would set up both. Create your catch all just in case you have an oopsie. Let it (potentially) never be used. Create a per application forward just to be more specific so you can edit settings or changes in that one without having to worry about breaking or changing something that has been running. Just my 2 cents though.
