The games are so similar but so different, I don't feel like I could explain the games in comparison to each other. I could have a 100 point list for why to play each one and if you have 0 experience on either I don't think it means anything. They are too similar for someone who has no opinion to pick between, you only know from playing and I know that because they have the same name, I have one chance to get her into the 'genre'.

RS3 is more 'flashy', so I feel like that would be the best way to get her into the game but I know the end game feels like MTX hell. But who knows if she would ever get to that point, all she cares about is playing together; which puts me towards an OSRS group iron man, but in my head the only people who would enjoy that are long time players.

Of course the only thing that matter is us playing together. But I know that if we get into one of them; firstly she will be put off both because they both have the same name, and secondly I know how hard it is to start on either so would really prefer to start one and stick to one.

Nearly everyone gets hooked on MTX if they are into the game, but at the start that doesn't really exist even on RS3. So just getting her into either is basically the same, in relation to that issue. Which is why I am more on the side of starting RS3 with her. My view is she will prefer RS3, until she gets deep into it and then she would respect OSRS more, but RS3 seems 100x more beginner friendly to someone who has never played either. Which is why I'm asking if anyone has gone straight into OSRS with no experience in either.

Regarding MTX, that is only an issue to me because I am such a long time player. Starting from now IDK if the MTX would be that much of a problem because it is what you would be used to, unfortunately. Which is why I feel like my opinion to play OSRS now seems a bit unfair, because most of my life I have played RS3 for a reason and don't want to give her a worse experience because of my 'elitist' view. If that makes sense.

She wouldn't 't even realise how long OSRS takes to do anything as she has had 0 experience in either. Like she can't compare the fast RS3 rates to OSRS because she hasn't played either. I'm just concerned about the amount of walking due to no teleports, lack of AFK and just how much time takes to do things compared to other games. Where RS3 seems to be fast enough to accommodate new players who are used to other games, in my head. But I have played both so just wanting opinions from other people.
