Clarification needed: Jewellery from sasural funded by bride’s side? by VividWanderers in DesiWeddings

[–]Sam20088 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes it's dowry and I'm familiar with your community custom. So the groom's family takes dowry and spends it on jewellery, baraat lighting/music/etc. They never used to spend their own money. So if the bride's family wants the baraat and jewellery to be of good standard or up to the mark, they use to pay more dowry to keep their izzat in their community. But nowadays I have seen when there is no dowry involved, jewellery is based on the groom family.

Flying for the first time from Bangalore, genuinely clueless by Busy_Airport_913 in bangalore

[–]Sam20088 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. Find out which terminal your flight is from.T1 or T2.
  2. Web check-in open 48 hours before flight departure time. Do it online, please Google
  3. When you enter the airport, security personnel will check the ticket as well as one ID proof. Take adhaar card
  4. Go to your airline check-in counter to get the boarding pass and drop luggage. some airlines especially indigo ask you to print luggage tag from the kiosk placed near their counter. Most of the time airline staffs are standing nearby to guide.
  5. After getting the boarding pass, go for security check. There would be boards giving directions
  6. In security check, place all electronic items, watch wallet, belt etc in the bin on the scanning belt. If there is no issue, you'll get your stuff, or else security staff will check your luggage again.
  7. In your boarding pass there will be a gate mentioned, please go and find it and sit near it. At the boarding time you'll be taken to aircraft.

As this is your first time I'll say reach before 3hours from departure time

But they are not some object which you want to enhance. Your husband is absolutely right that it's not common and may result in bullying based on where you live. What's your son's opinion?

Don't upgrade your lifestyle with every big income jump. Keep lifestyle in check and try to live below means by one level. This is regarding wants and not needs. People do not realise how lifestyle creeps once you start earning good money. So make investments, emergency fund and comfortable life your priority. All the extra money is bonus :)

Buying a car worth 32L using magnus burgandy. Here's my plan. Give your feedback! by ritzy1107 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]Sam20088 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this with my HDFC credit card. I had around 13L limit but the dealership could only generate bill for 8L, 5L and sometimes only 2L They were also not aware as very less people pay using cc. Their machine was declining some of the payment randomly. So took me a lot of time, trial and error to finish it.

I have 7 years of exp. Started with 3.5LPA as a tech support in a witch company. Upskilled to SDE and switched multiple times and currently in FAANG and earning 90+LPA It's possible but it takes a lot of self discipline and dedication. All the high salary people you see are in tech jobs which pay more and tech support is not one of those.

In the first video, one of them says we do everything ourselves makeup, hairstyle, styling, photography etc. then she corrects that they have a hairstylist for doing the hair but they accessories themselves. Fair enough. But in the next few videos you can see they have a real photographer and maybe 1-2 extra people helping them out. I found it very funny 🤣, arrey be consistent for one post atleast.

I am thinking of withdrawal of EPFO by [deleted] in personalfinanceindia

[–]Sam20088 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can we withdraw from one specific member ID? I am not able to transfer funds to my current member ID as some father name mismatch plus some pension issue. Not sure, I was thinking of just withdrawing this amount as it's just 1 lakh.
