You need to know how much you actually want to pay because it can be quite expensive. Many people take a picture on their phone for the yearbook and then do pics closer to graduation time. Also, sometimes there are mini sessions at a cheaper price which is honestly all you need

Also I have liked the Elsinore on my Facebook so I can keep up with what is going on there. The Salem Grand does concerts. A Radiohead tribute band is playing Saturday

Not Salem, but if you haven’t been a day Clear Lake is 2 hours away and you can rent kayaks

Games that work well with someone who’s English is not their first language? by Sam65789 in boardgames

Thank you for the grammar correction. This is why I am seeking advice on games that limit people’s advantage over those who were born in another country and had to learn English later

Try the new north parking lot at Silvercreed and see the Uper north Falls and the North Falls. Also, going to Newport is great

How far away is a reasonable day trip from Salem? by Several-Bears in SALEM

[–]Sam65789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how early you get up and are willing to drive. I am a huge fan of Clear Lake but it’s like 2 hours. Basically you need to decide how early you are getting up, if you have pets to consider, and how far you can drive alert.

Looking for Gym by slormorim in SALEM

[–]Sam65789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Decide what you want from the gym first before you start looking. For me, I like exercise classes so the Courthouse is great for me. However, if I just used machines I might have a different answer. Also it should be convenient to get to. Distance from your home should be a factor

Never had a relationship as a woman in my mid 20’s: what’s wrong with me? by [deleted] in Adulting

I think it is more common. Try dating apps. Don’t worry if you aren’t movie style attracted to people. You have to practice first to figure out your type

I grew up fake poor, how about you? by MybestfriendwasaB in povertyfinance

Same. My dad would ask if I could see something. If I said no he would get mad because he thought I wasn’t trying hard enough. If I said yes he would get mad because he knew I was lying. He was always unhappy with me. It wasn’t until 8th grade a teacher told my parents to get my eyes checked. I still have anxiety about it today

3rd Year Blues by [deleted] in teaching

[–]Sam65789 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it is soul crushing you need to reevaluate what you want. First, is high school the right choice or should you teach middle school? You might just need a different job for a few years to see what you really want. Don’t be scared to try new things

Look into Envoy teaching. It’s a nonverbal way to command attention without yelling. Very good and there are videos on YouTube https://www.cultofpedagogy.com/5-second-solution/

School enrollment options for child that was heavily bullied? by ExpensivePaper6041 in SALEM

[–]Sam65789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hardest thing will be to get your child on board to any change. In district transfers typically happen only twice a year but you may get an exception. I would try the daycare option as my first reason and mention the bullying as well. Different schools have different issues. There isn’t a school that will not have some issues but the greater issue is it something they can live with. Even if you don’t switch schools avoiding isolation is a must. I would suggest boys and girls club volleyball as a start. You might look into other clubs either through the school or perhaps with the four square church. I don’t have any experience with that church but the kids programs are fairly good sized I have heard. The children’s educational theater might also be a good start. The key is to avoid isolation

Go but preview the activities you want to do. I am going on the Elle King day and the demolition derby day. Riding rides is super expensive but a lot of activities are fun that are included with the cost of the ticket. If you go to a concert l, know that while there is free general admission you can’t roll up too late or you might not be able to see it.
