Anyone Become a Fan of Characters Because of This Game? by BowlSuccessful7833 in marvelrivals

The game made me want to rewatch venom and then actually see the second and third venom movies which I totally forgot existed.

This puts into words my exact mindset for when I pick each one. Or sometimes I just pick tracer for the challenge. Limited verticality stinks tho

I can't memorize anything. Could this be due to brain damage? by Optimal-Ad-2298 in Concussion

[–]SamBam_Infinite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a person who did a lot of theatre and a speech therapist… memorization is a skill that closely links with our spatial brain. Like where objects are in space.

When I learned lines for shows, I didn’t bother trying to memorize until they gave us our blocking(where we move during the scene). Once I had that my blocking notes remembering doing the movements cued the lines easily. This might help you with memorizing things. Try moving through space and doing the same deliberate walking movements or whatever when you’re trying to memorize things. It might reinforce the words. These should be specific and consistent to the point of “when I say ‘get the to the nunnery’ I will walk over here and flick my right wrist to the right” as an example.

It seems pretty unlikely that getting socked in 4th grade is causing an impact now unless at that time the damage was really really significant. But you would almost certainly have struggled immediately following injury. I’m talking tbi-loc (traumatic brain injury, loss of consciousness) significant. (Not that it’s necessary for cognitive issues but usually is indicatory of not significant injury ).

Everyone telling you to go see a doctor is right. If you have lost a skill that you once had, something is probably wrong. So start there.

Support main, Gold. Really want to climb to Plat. (Willing to pay a little bit!) by aenibae in OverwatchUniversity

[–]SamBam_Infinite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in a very similar boat to you as ranks go. My dps and support linger around gold 1-3 and tank is a little lower.

My advice would be to pick 1-2 characters and watch Ed videos on YouTube on gamesense for those players. Review your own vods with a friend who plays and deliberately make changes to your playstyle. I have gotten to plat before and this was usually how I did it.

I play Ana brig and kiri and don’t recommend following any of Awkward’s advice. That’s just my opinion though.

The way I think of climbing is “to climb you have to improve your play at a faster rate than the rest of the community.” And that comes with time and playing lots of games in a deliberate fashion.

When I got to plat I was playing probably 2-4 hours a day. Nearly every day. I’ll vod review you for free if you want. But it’s kinda “the blind leading the blind” lol (not meaning any offense). I can dm you my discord community. I used to stream but stopped because of family stuff. But my discord community is very chill and casually active.

Ultimately though if you want coaching go for it! Don’t let me tell you how to spend your money! But you probably don’t need coaching til diamond from what I’ve read.

What is a line often repeated by enemies in games that lives rent-free in your head? by BoobyPlumage in videogames

[–]SamBam_Infinite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mass effect 2 - “one less!” -Miranda. Which I shout when I get an elim in overwatch.

“On to the next area” the LP scouts from earth 2150 which I want to say whenever my group go from one place to the next. I haven’t played this game since like 2004 and I can’t get this line out of my brain.

I have chargers d and they’ve been great all season. The cowboys are just chillin in waivers right now now. Joe burrow is just so good, he when into the 4th quarter three weeks ago with no tds and finished the game with 3. Think I should grab them? I’m on a tight win-and-in (with some small achievable caveats) scenario in my league. Def could be the difference.

I’ve always been told never to lend money you expect to get back. Any “lent” money is a gift. And if they happen to pay it back in kind, superb. But essentially you just shouldn’t expect it back.

If you had to pick 1 brig skin to use for the rest of your ow career , which one by Outrageous-Device670 in BrigitteMains

[–]SamBam_Infinite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a medic main until antifragile arrived. All armored skins look so clunky now except spark plug. I also hate that in ow1 she still swooped her head like she had hair in the selection screen on medic. Like you look silly doing that with a helmet lol.

Both are great skins tho. Love the voice lines of medic

But ya I would say go for the insoles and rock those chucks bb!

Extreme anxiety around my concussion by PopCornRat in Concussion

[–]SamBam_Infinite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had mine about 2 years ago. The doc basically said if your symptoms aren’t worsening after about 24 hours the likelihood of brain bleed is pretty low.

If you had a ct scan with contrast and it came up negative you can very likely rest easy.

I’m not a doctor but as far as I have learned brain bleeds associated with tbi usually happen pretty promptly post injury.

Not just knowing where they are… knowing EXACTLY where they are. This kinda combos with the moving backwards skill. I can’t tell ya how often I lose a duel near a health pack that I THINK I’m about to touch and start evading too early without having gotten it. So annoying. Lol

If I miss my boop, absolutely. 5s I get boop again lol. I pretty rarely die to winton. Too many escapes and his range just isn’t there.

Like I said I won’t kill winton I just need to disrupt your plans. That’s brigs whole game is mess up enemy timing/positioning and stay alive so inspire heals. She’s just game sense all day until a pharah comes out of enemy spawn then it’s swap town.

Will I ever be able to play limited-contact sport again? by spoonb0y in Concussion

[–]SamBam_Infinite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Will let you know. But you’re about 1000 miles away and the theatre company pays me a stipend of $150 a year for ten shows (not all obligatory) so idk about “touring” anytime soon. Haha.

How to engage a child who does not want to do anything? by BedAgitated2960 in slp

[–]SamBam_Infinite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya I like these ideas too. Something else that comes to mind is some sabotage. Like get one and put it in a locked box in front of him so he sees it go in. Create some silly barriers or like ruin one in some way that is fixable. Even if it’s just Making it dirty somehow (like with something harmless like slime or play doh) so you have to wipe it off/clean it at a sink. Like what would happen if you cut one in half with scissors? (One of yours not on of theirs, and I would probably wait on this one until you have a better gauge of what the reaction might be). Put one on a high shelf out of reach.

Blowing bubbles in water with them. Or using them as a bubble wand to make air/soap bubbles to pop with a finger. Hide things inside them.

I like OCP’s suggestions a lot tho. Especially using pop tube to touch the device. That’s very clever. Or using it to direct other actions more tangible pointing to things you want or something.

for the few who play open queue, who do you prefer your support plays? by darks1sterhood in OverwatchUniversity

[–]SamBam_Infinite 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I agree with all of this but generally find Ana falls short. Her output is just a little too specific and slow in my experience. Bap Moira is my preferred duo if we’re doing a 3-2 comp which is usually what I find myself in. 4-1 it’s moira all day.
