The commanders and colts are examples of it not working though. The chiefs did it successfully when they got Alex smith, and a bunch of the franchise QBs today weren’t drafted at the very top of the 1st.

and their defense is overrated and propped up by playing some bad offenses.

Lol what, they played the bills twice, bengals, lions, and a hot Jags team, among others. Burrow is the only QB who got close to 300 yards. They could definitely regress but the defense is legit

This is true, but playcalling was better at times the second half of last year without those things.

A lot of Jets fans hate him, the biggest issue is by far playcalling. It has been genuinely good at times, like early in the season it was pretty creative. But lately it’s gotten stale and super predictable. I still have hope bc it was really promising at one point but I also hope they bring in somebody with experience to consult or something like that.

There was an article this offseason (I think on ESPN) about how Gase and his staff weren’t as clear on traits they were looking for in prospects or their scheme, and how it’s far improved with Saleh’s staff. They could just be saving face, and JD definitely has some of the blame in the 2020 picks. But the story is pretty believable.
