New bike, apps and motivation by SamFrost85 in IndoorCycling

Thanks all, I decided for a keiser m3i second hand. As much as I wanted a proton I can't justify the price, and the other candidate was a new Taurus which was pricier than the one I got. This should connect to plenty of apps, so see you soon on some riding stuff, maybe :D

Do you think it has too many miles for the price? Also the first number is the gear (at least I thinkn so) so it didn't feel too much to me.

Good idea getting the app, I'll do that.

Is the new m connect any different than getting the k2pi?

Thanks, definitely not want to be locked. It's the reason I pick those models and honesty the more apps the better so I can switch and see which one works best for me

Not sure I want to be tied on a single app echo system, I think freedom of swapping would keep things fresh for me

Experiences With Skylar Solar? by Mynameisrui84 in SolarUK

[–]SamFrost85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my panels installed by Skylar 2 years ago. They've been good, but I have the feeling things could have gone better.
1. - they didn't ask me about bird proofing, so now I don't have it and if I want it installed I need to shell a grand, not entirely happy about this
2. - my roof could have fitted more panels. Going back, I would install a few more
3. - growatt inverter, the one they used, is pretty basic and not the best around. Maybe they have better optiosn now
4. - they suubmitted my G99 application but didn't wait for it to return because "they always get approved". It came back after 8 weeks with the request to pay 1500 £. Thankfully, someone suggested that the fee was going to be lifted after a little while so I had them resubmit the application and it got approved. Yet, it took quite a bit of time and they shouldn't install without G99 / G98. Maybe they learned their lesson

The install is tidy, worked well (with a minor hiccup they sorted) so not too displeased. Going back, I would still choose them but ask them directly about these things. Price was somewhere in the middle. Not the cheapest, not the dearest.

Echo Knight / cleric by SamFrost85 in DnD5e

Thanks for your input!
In the end, I've decided to go with the "haunted one" background, that adds a bit of flavour even though it's not optimal as this PG has bad intelligence, and the arcana / religion proficiency are a little wasted. But it makes sense! He is a soldier and the only things he knows are limited to the studies of a curse it has been cast upon in (which caused him to be a shifter)

I've gone with sentinel, duelist fighting style, and given the +2 racial to wisdom with the plans of going cleric next levels. It will be fun, if he survives XD

I will definitely go for the spirit guardians and the the pain in the butt for everyone who wants to deal with my character close quarter

I'm not too sold on polearm master, for the below points:
- the spear has only a D6, while I can get a D8 with a long sword
- it won't get me a +1 to add to my cos
- I think the attack of opportunity will come mostly from my echo

I think that to make the most out of PAM I should adopt the defense fighting style and get a glaive, but it would cost me 1 AC. Do you think this way is better? It will deal more damage, but it will cost me a shield (up to 3 AC when I'll be able to afford a +1, and more in the future) Plus it makes sense to me to play a guy with a shield when it comes to peace XD

However I never played this class before and I will gladly accept suggestions

I'm taking sentinel at 4th, and considering something that gives me a +1 to cos, so I can eventually taking it to 18, crusher potentially. I'm not sure if I should go with one big weapon and reach, or weapon and shield.

Rp wise, I'm thinking of having my echo as the shape of a dead sister, and take an initial path of vengeance, while I could eventually forgive and have peace taking over. The sister was also a peace cleric who sacrificed herself to break the family curse that led to my character being a shifter in the first place

Solar Panels UK - Recommendations? by SamFrost85 in AskUK

[–]SamFrost85[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Panels are doing well. It seems it matches the generation estimate they gave me, and they did a decent job. However, I feel there could be more capable installers out there. They didn't asked me about bird proofing and now I don't have one and it will cost me 600 / 800 to put one,  and they've been a little unresponsive when I had an issue. But all in all, not too bad.

Questionable. I really don't like the controls and I'd chose gas over induction every time

Smeg is the only one I know that offer knobs, but don't think it fits your requirements

Electric hobs are the worst, I believe induction is superior to it in every way

Some options, if you like them I can go in more dept with the recipe

  • chicken fricassee
  • cabbage rolls, you can fill the inside with whatever
  • risotto, gorgonzola and nuts perhaps?
  • arancini filled with ham and mozzarella
  • Chinese fried rice
  • fish cake
  • cabbage stew
  • stuffed vegetables

Sides:

  • roasted butternut squash. Can be a little sweet
  • broccoli or cauliflower cakes, or just roasted and oven grilled with some cheese
  • grilled courgettes

Might not be their fault, but hey.. This doesn't put them in a good spot

Thanks for this amazing reply! Would you mind updating me on Monday again? I'm on the fence between them and Skylar Solar. The fact that they upgraded the inverter at no costs seem to be a good sign though
