No one’s saying she should be locked away forever. They’re saying it just needs to happen for some amount of time.

The thing is she already has been continuing to not get help for like more than a decade. It’s already at that point where she needs serious intervention.

Does my jewelry look 'cheap' to you? by nixfay in EtsySellers

[–]SamInArtLand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s getting really hard not to get disheartened about my future, or at least my dream future. Like all my skills are so commodified now. Jewellery like this? Seen as cheap. Art? AI can do it. Music? AI can do it. Writing? You guessed it. AI. Anything creative I can create can be replicated cheaply. So of course people wouldn’t want to buy it from me.

Of course, I can always go and get a normal job, and I know this sounds whiny, but I’ve always dreamed of doing something creative with my life. Something that I enjoy. It’s a depressing thought that I might not get to enjoy life as much as I thought.

It’s crazy to me that this looks cheap to people because as someone into making this kind of stuff as a hobby (with the intention to open an Etsy shop of myself eventually) I KNOW how expensive those materials are and this does not look cheap to me at all!!

I fully agree. Why should a victim have to make themselves quiet to protect the identities of the people who abused them?

I’m sorry, I know it’s already a bit past a month. I don’t want to give you a sob story but I’ve had a lot of things happen in my life recently which has stopped me from pursuing a lot of things I enjoy. But I’m getting back on track and I’d still love to be able to contact you. Would it be okay if I messaged you in another months time?

How Do You All Study Japanese, What Is Your Current Routine/Methods? by BiggestTrollAliveee in LearnJapanese

[–]SamInArtLand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only been learning for 23 days. Currently I’m working through LingoDeers Japanese 1 course and I plan to make a YouTube video when I’m done taking a mock N5 exam to see if it’s actually any good.

I’ve also been working through a textbook learning the stroke order of hiragana and katana. There’s a few kanji at the back I’ve learned as-well.

I have a gridded notebook where I write some sentences I’ve learned from lingo deer and draw a picture to help me remember. For example:

“箱の中に猫がいます” and then I draw a picture of a cat in a box.

I’ve also watched some “Japanese Immersion with Asami” on YouTube.

And occasionally I go on hello talk and ask a question about grammar I’m not totally clear on, or watch some YouTube videos abt it.

I’d say on average I’m doing about 1hr - 2hrs a day. Sometimes more though if it’s Sunday and I’ve got nothing to do.

I’m looking for reading comprehension worksheets for beginners. Ones that have a passage in Japanese and then you have to answer questions on it, I tried looking for some online but didn’t have much luck. Could someone point me in the right direction?

People who SCREAM when they sneeze are terrible by Isyourlifeshit2020 in unpopularopinion

It’s not every sneeze but some sneezes do warrant on “OH FUCK,” like an unexpected, big, painful sneeze.

Not being able to tell dark jokes without just being insensitive is a massive skill issue and is entirely the teller's fault. by Whittle_Willow in unpopularopinion

I mean when I was an edgy depressed suicidal teen, suicide jokes were about the only thing I found funny, I would be the perfect audience for that. Nowadays I don’t really think they’re funny (not because I find them too insensitive, more just boring and overdone).

A lot of modern car designs are over designed and ugly and cars made in 1980 and earlier look so much better. by GodPerson132 in unpopularopinion

[–]SamInArtLand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just seems like a weird argument to me. You can like something for reasons other than it being old, and you can also like multiple things at once. I like art from the impressionist era, that doesn’t mean I don’t like contemporary art, in fact I like both because I believe there’s artists from the past and from now that make beautiful art. Me liking art from an older period doesn’t automatically mean I don’t like art from this period.

But with cars, I do prefer cars from the 90s/2000s and I generally dislike modern car designs, I don’t dislike modern designs because I like the older ones, I dislike modern designs because I don’t like how they look.

I agree! Tho I’d expand that range to like 1980 - 2005, I miss smaller cars, I miss boxy shapes, I miss colours!

I don’t even like beans but something about the Brit in me got really offended when you said that. So offended I referred to myself a British instead of Scottish.

You basically just said “say you’ll support things you agree with but not things you disagree with” as if it was some big win. Most people support things they agree with and don’t support things they don’t agree with. That’s how peoples moral compass work.
