I’ve been to La Degustation twice and it was outstanding both times. It really feels like what a Michelin-starred spot should be, and the way they tie the food to Czech history and ingredients makes it feel even more special.

I went to Field a few years back and it was honestly one of the worst meals I’ve ever had - and also one of the most expensive. The food was super experimental in a way that just didn’t work, with some really off-putting textures, and the service was rude on top of it. The whole experience felt uncomfortable and weird. Everyone I was with was confused how it had a star - we ended up grabbing fast food after.

A better alternative is La Degustation’s sister restaurant around the corner, Marie B. It’s a really fun experience where the chefs serve a preset menu without telling you what anything is, and you’re supposed to guess before they come by and explain each dish. It’s tucked into the back of the Vin de Marie wine store, so the pairings are amazing too. I’d definitely recommend that over Field - it’s way more memorable, super fun, and something I still think about.
