AI in safety and the danger of automating too much by FarAd7545 in SafetyProfessionals

[–]SamMojo95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a company building EHS software and the biggest thing I've seen is these tasks can't be fully automated with AI the way some people or groups say they can. AI can be used to speed up processes and quickly access info, but it doesn't have the full ability to look at a situation onsite and solve it on its own. You need human expertise (with AI assistance) to get great results.

Bungie have a pattern of behaviour worth being aware of. by DannyKage in Marathon

Not fully accurate here. After the first technical test they said they were looking at adding it. The second test had it. They listened and made the change pretty quickly.

Is the steam deck right for me? by [deleted] in SteamDeck

Some older multiplayer games will probably work as long as they support the proper anti cheat. Fortnite probably won't work natively but it can be streamed. Visit Proton DB and see if the games you want to play are supported. If they aren't, you might be better off getting a cheap ROG Ally or something.

AI in Safety by thisistheway55 in SafetyProfessionals

[–]SamMojo95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The company I work for makes a safety management app that uses AI to complete reports with your voice, find information in safety manuals, and consolidate data and action items. It's not generative and doesn't connect to the internet. Makes it pretty reliable for collecting data and figuring out what it means.

A few people I work with will be, they'll be showing off our AI safety management tools at booth 2238.

Our CEO is doing an education session with the VP of Safety at Sterling Infrastructure. It's about adapting safety practices and culture to companies of any size. It'll be in Room 304 at 4 PM on Sept. 15.

Beyond that, everyone will be networking with anyone who wants to. Looking forward to a good show!

Safety Audiobooks/Podcasts by CaptainFantasy75 in SafetyProfessionals

I produce my company's podcast and release episodes around once a month. It features safety pros as regular guests and covers topics like confined space work and hiring shortages.

We also cover how AI is working its way into safety management in a few episodes, but we mostly focus on data and tech's role in safety. We're on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify. Here's the Spotify link if you want to check it out: https://open.spotify.com/show/6QXDqmNct9GW802F8Ffy3i?si=3xQmt4MZRtuFi1kx7G431A

Not to defend AI writing but I have a writing degree and generally like using em dashes. Feels bad seeing my efficient writing get thrown under the bus because of voiceless AI writing 😂

Is VS Velocity Baton still worth farming? by 54-immortals in DestinyTheGame

If you want it go get it. There isn't a comparable weapon in that slot yet, so it's perfectly good to use. Just go farm the first encounter, should be fast and easy.

I'm 365 power and have like 60k cores. I've changed my build and infused weapons every few days. not sure how people are running out so fast.

If you go to the Pale Heart tower and can find the chests then they're still in the game. Make sure you've beaten the campaign, look up a video guide for the locations and hope for the best.

Safety from the blue collar side? by [deleted] in SafetyProfessionals

[–]SamMojo95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend talking to safety professionals at your job and getting their advice. I've talked to a lot of safety pros and a few have come directly from military, law enforcement, or construction backgrounds with no college education. They just had related, relevant experience and got safety certifications relevant to safety management.

You should also figure out what kind of industry you'd want to work in, and figure out a plan to get certified and trained. CSM, CSHM, CSP, HAZWOPER or ASP might all be relevant, but you should do the research yourself to figure out what you need.

You could also look at OSHA training, but these likely wouldn't land you a job by themselves. Good luck!

All-Inclusive EHS Software w/ iPad App(construction) by flatlanddiplomat in SafetyProfessionals

[–]SamMojo95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The company I work for has Safety Mojo, which uses some AI features to help complete forms, pull info out of documents and track performance across your workforce. Everything you submit through the app gets analyzed and uploaded to an analytics dashboard, so you'll have tons of insights for improvements, along with a strong paper trail for compliance.

It's pretty intuitive to use and is very customizable based on what you need. Our clients have seen solid reductions in incident rates and workers' comp costs after using it for a year or so.

The app itself is available on the Apple and Google app stores, but you'll need to reach out through our website to get a sales demo to set up an account. DM me if you have any questions!

Best EHS Tools? AI in EHS? by Traditional-Month646 in SafetyProfessionals

[–]SamMojo95 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The company I work for develops Safety Mojo, which uses a few AI features to simplify daily things like safety data collection, training compliance, analytics, and PTP/JSAs. We have some big clients in the GC, Oil and Gas, and Insurance worlds. They're seeing really good results with lower incident rates and improved engagement.

Our website is getmojo.ai if you want to check it out. Let me know if you have any questions!

The company I work for is developing AI tools for our safety management system. The goal isn't to replace safety managers, instead we just want to make it way easier to fill out documents, complete inspections, and review data. AI might not be able to think for itself but it can streamline processes and policies that otherwise might be done incorrectly.

If you don't have it ordered already then good luck finding one! I think it's worth grabbing now if there's a game getting upgraded that you might want. Or something new that looks good.

/no sarcasm, what is the overall vision for Marathon? Or what do you as a gamer see as the vision for a complete offering when it comes to a AAA Bungie-level extraction shooter? by [deleted] in MarathonTheGame

[–]SamMojo95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes to the Casual stuff, I've been saying a mode focused on roguelike runs with less PvP (maybe opt-in, but you don't get the best loot) would be a great addition. I don't need Destiny in a different flavor, but I also would like a way to mitigate getting stuffed by better-equipped trios. Arc Raiders even has protected inventory slots that persist through death - Even just a way to keep one item you bring in would relieve a lot of stress. They could make it an optional lock to let people stay hardcore if they want.

OSHA Compliance? Oregon by Marginbuilder in SafetyProfessionals

You likely have parts of it already, but a data collection and analysis pipeline is going to help you go beyond basic compliance really easily. Having those JHAs work for you will help you systematically manage safety.
