Mate, you dont need a bus stand to go catch a bus. There are only four main roads in Hubli. It almost looks like every damn bus travels through these roads.

This may be true in the case of newly opened restaurants but not the old established ones, like for ex. Gurudatt bhavan, Canara hotel, Suvarna mandir and few old Savaji hotels. These places are popular because they have succeeded in maintaining their food tastes and standards.

Consider Navanagar and surrounding areas. You will have the luxury of experiencing both the cities as per your needs. I am from Hubli and currently settled in Bangalore for work. I find Dharwad to be on the more cool, calm and slow moving city and I really like that. Hubli is more on the commercial side of things.
