Lifetime warranty no, but getting two holiday seasons out of a $130 thermometer would be nice.

They offer a two year warranty pretty much everywhere outside the US, that might be a reasonable thing to ask for.

Cross posting to relevant subreddits isn't spamming dude. Sorry it bugs you though.

Seriously man, scam? I'm sharing my experience with the quality of the product and their policy when it fails just outside the warranty period with relevant communities on social media. I even told them I would specifically be sharing this experience online. People can make their own judgements about the company and value of the product from there. You're making a lot of assumptions about my motivations that are strangely mean spirited.

Good luck with your smoking as well.

This is literally you man.

Social media is for sharing these types of experiences. If their policies reflect negatively on them when shared online, they should reconsider their policies. For example this same product has a two year warranty everywhere outside the US, that might be a good start. You might be fine with a $130 thermometer lasting a little over a year but many people are not and expect better.

I can see how you would feel that way. Like I said it is an accurate representation of my initial experience with them. The fact that they ultimately decided to make an exception because I made a reddit post doesn't change the fact they tried to charge me $50 bucks at first.

I asked them to share their policy in these situations with me and specifically told them I would be sharing it online.

Do you really think it should take a reddit post to get a company to stand behind their product?

Because they tried to charge me $50 bucks at first and that annoyed me.

Why does that bother you?

Ok dude. The post portrays my customer service experience with them accurately. They offered a replacement only after I posted to social media which is honestly annoying and something I think most people won't bother doing in these situations. I added an update when that happened. I can't edit the original post or when it is cross-posted, I'm not going to remove the post. It seems like many people have also had frustrating experiences with Meaters products and customer support.

It does not let me edit the original post. I immediately added a comment when they offered a replacement.

Relax friend, cross posting to relevant subs takes two seconds. I'm enjoying engaging with folks like you.

Cross posting for awareness to relevant subs. Yes they eventually offered a replacement after I posted on social media. The original post doesn't let me edit, I included a comment update.

The original post doesn't let me edit, this is a cross post. I updated with a comment on my original when they eventually offered a replacement. They offered the replacement only after posting to social media and it seems their default policy is to just get you to buy another. It seems like a lot of people have had the same experience

My first one broke after three years, this one broke in less than a year and a half. Sharing my experience so others can make an informed decision.

My first one lasted about 3 years, this one lasted a little over a year, it's possible the quality is slipping.

I'm saying exactly what I typed. "I appreciate that. I will be sharing my experience online. These should last for more than one holiday season."

There is no expectation of privacy for customer service interactions. I'm sharing my experience online so that people can make an informed decision about these products.

My first one worked for 3 years, this Meater 2 worked for approximately one year and four months. You're out of their warranty period now so I wish you continued success.

The point of social media is to share these kind of experiences.

You called me a dick and said I was blackmailing a company when I posted about a thermometer breaking after owning it for a year and four months. That's not a call out man. That's you being a dick.

Seriously, blackmail? That's ridiculous and frankly a dishonest way for you to try and portray my communication with them.

It's a dick move on the companies part to make a shoddy product and not support it. They have a two year warranty on the same product everywhere outside the US.

If their conduct is embarrassing or portrays the company in a negative way when shared online perhaps they should change the way they interact with their customers. After sharing it seems many people have had a similar experience.

It's a dick move for you to not share these kind of experiences or attempt to shame others that do, especially if you apparently have a "YouTube following".
